Hi Dave, very interesting video, it reminds me of how commercial vehicles are tested in the UK, I was a commercial vehicle technician for 30 years, and we used to take them to be tested at a Department of Transport testing station which were normally in major cities or towns, now they are tested at private commercial premises called Authorised Testing Facilities (ATF's) but they are still inspected by Government inspectors, I remember there were 4 stages, 1. check vehicle around the outside and also check smoke emissions, 2. over the pit checking all underneath including steering etc, 3. check lights, 4. check brakes on the rollers, but every stage you had to sit in the drivers seat to work the controls. I must admit your bloke didn't spend much time looking under the bonnet, but then there's probably not much he can see as the engine bay it covered over with a plastic panel. I hope Mrs Travelon's car passed OK. Keep those videos coming mate see you next time we're over, we're currently in Portugal at the moment, cheers.

Hi dave was at that itv centre few wks ago with my partner and couldnt believe how straight forward it was compared to ireland..He had no appointment just 1 car ahead of him so very fast ..Thanks for sharing 🙂

Interesting to see how it's done in Lanza, nicely presented vid as always Dave. Took mine in for MOT two days ago, £45. Dropped it off at the garage, walked home 5 mins and had a cuppa, then walked back and picked the car up, it had passed. Takes 45 minutes to MOT a car at my garage, and they check everything. No tax discs anymore, it's all electronic. How long did it take to get through for you?

here in ireland its called a nct its cost 55 euro if u pass and the car is under 10 years old it will do for two years but the smallest of problem with it they will fail u

It already is like that in the UK, part of it anyway. In Northern Ireland we’ve had to go to official test centres as long as I can remember. Plus the first test is at 4 years instead of 3 like mainland GB. As someone else already mentioned, we did away with tax discs years ago!

Awww great dave at long long last.mrstravelon be motoring again..advise next car Toyota or hounding never go wrong..I have a Toyota rav 4 luna sport car (touch wood ) never gives me any problems..oh drive through I.t.v. with thick Angus beef burger as you leave it test center..Big juicy 😋 😜 beef dripping juice running down your chin.teeth sink in and the flavour bursts into your mouth.oh my God it's delicious 😋 an explosion of big beefy taste explodes into your mouth..as you drive through I.t.v. your dream burger disappears into a cloud just puff.its gone..at least your monster passed...a dribble fall from your the side of your mouth.and you realised it was only a dream.aww shit..😅😅😅😅😅😅cheers dave ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉hello mrs travelon.jack alfie cheers collette from trim

@MrTravelONWorld agonisingly painful when the tester tells me he has the same things on his vehicle the same vehicle i have !!! but I have to put it to factory spec first for all the euros, then pay an engineer to say it's okay to put it back on the vehicle for even more euros!!!! Damn paperwork!!!!!!! Gotta love it
