My neighbor's dog was 3 years old and was diagnose with tachycardia. They discovered the condition after the dog would breath very heavy for the longest time after chasing a ball. This same dog is now 7 years old and is doing great (no medication). He'll swim in the pool for short periods and they have shortened his exercise. Dogs don't understand they have to slow down, so it's good what you're doing with Chip. He's such a good dog!

The amount of negative/judgemental comments on this feed are ridiculous!! Leave Sophie and Dave be, they are doing amazing and they both work so hard. If Sophie wants to hoover that has nothing to do with anyone else, Dave is hardly going to let her work herself into the ground. Just remember we are only watching snippets of their daily life. No one is perfect 24/7 and remember they are new parents and will make mistakes like every new parent does. So much love for you Sophie and Dave. Xx

Regarding the shower we had a cleaner and she advised us to use a window squeegee after ever shower to stop cold up and it works amazingly. Bless Chip xxx Barney is adorable but a few seconds is all it takes on the outside. My Stepfather taught me from day one never underestimate a baby/toddler/child in what they can do or reach. Oh poor Chip, fingers crossed he'll be ok without mess, our fur babies are so precious and full time family members. For your shower, try after cleaning with your usual cleaner, using vinegar on some kitchen roll and wipe on and off, works wonders, slight chip shop smell though lol. So pleased you have a diagnosis for Chip now and hopefully should be manageable. Don’t feel guilty. You didn’t know and that’s the problem with animals they can’t tell us. When you go on walks with him maybe take a portable fold up bowl and some water for him so he can have water on walks so he doesn’t over heat and might help a bit. I have a Labrador as well. X

For the shower method shower spray is great and smells amazing, I spray it down and use a squeegee to avoid streaks. I have an anxious dog and i use Dorwest Valerian Skullcap supplement which really helps.

I couldn't watch the first video about Chip....just the thumbnail was enough...brought too many memories of losing my Rufus (Golden Retriever). I want to share a story....I lived in a house for 7 years and regularly would go past this house down the road, with an open style gate...and the most gorgeous and friendly Labrador would be at the entrance of the gate...he would be wagging his tail...always so happy...it made my day to see him. Anyway, I've since moved out and am now house-sharing...my housemate's niece....is the owner of that dog! She mentioned that she stayed home one day...and noticed how many people would stop and say hello to him...she was astounded how many bend down to talk to him.Most loved dog in the neighbourhood and maybe the most famous. So precious ...aren't they. Love and healing vibes to your loved ones.

We have a glass shower and we got a squeegee thing and after every shower we use it to wipe the excess water down. Then I just use flash bathroom and window cleaner when cleaning it but it never seems to build up too much when using the squeegee. Glad chip is home and doing well!

You can get a window/glass spray and then a green window/glass kinky cloth to use, it will make it so much easier to clean the shower door. Glad you got a diagnosis for chip though, they are like having another baby so when something is wrong, it’s heart breaking xxx

Sophie, I found it so hard to sleep when my baby was asleep, even when exhausted it isn’t that easy to nap during the day as an adult (unless in the first trimester!) I also enjoy doing ‘normal’ things, like the food shopping, cleaning etc. while my partner looks after my baby. Sometimes I feel guilty that I like to do this, but I still adore my baby and am with him most of the day, sometimes it is nice to just be you, so do what works best for you, and Dave you’re doing a great job supporting Sophie, Barney and Chip x

Poor chip ☹️ I’m glad you’ve got a diagnosis but you can’t help but worry about them. I have superventeicular tachycardia I’ve had it since I was around 12/13. I’m now 26 and was only diagnosed last year and only as I work in a cardiology department and had a monitor fitted to capture symptoms. My heart rate also rockets to around 250 when it happens. It’s honestly horrible it really knocks you for 6 and makes you feel horrendous. I chickened out of having an ablation. I didn’t know dogs could get it too!

I have been checking and checking for updates on Chip. It absolutely broke my heart 💔 watching the “it’s been a bad day video” the other day, it’s nearly a year since we lost our dog Snoopy and some of the things Dave was saying regarding Chip and how he was walking and seemed wobbly on his legs, reminded me of Snoopy when he became ill. Thank you for updating us on Chips condition and I pray he will be ok. You get to know your dogs needs/moods/personality and wants and as his parents you will know your Chips as I knew my Snoopy’s needs etc and facial expressions. Please give each other a hug from me and a hug and tummy tickle to Chip, if you don’t mind a little kiss to xxxx You are all still in my thoughts and prayers xxxxxxx

Get a squeegee all you have to do is use it after every shower they work great. If you don't know what it is it is like the things they use to clean your car windows at the gas stations.

Honestly I feel for Dave.... the guilt when something goes wrong you didn't know about it hard.... We lost our last dog to bloat just over a year ago and the guilt I feel for not catching it sooner is unreal! I'm so glad that chip is OK and you have a diagnosis. Easy way of cleaning the shower glass is cream cleaner on a sponge/non scratch scourer. Rub into the glass, rinse with the shower and it will leave the glass streak free on its own if you let it dry itself. 🥰

Love your vlogs and you are doing an amazing job as parents but it makes me nervous to see Barneys snuzpod with the zip side down when he is asleep in case he moves and falls or in case chip jumps up for some love. Also Sophie please try and rest more, don’t stress yourself out over cleaning, that’s what Dave is home for. You just need to sleep and eat for the next for weeks, while getting those important baby snuggles!

She was just trying to distract herself and stay busy, its a horrible emotional time when the dogs poorly in the vets. Im 37+ weeks and our dog was admitted for a week extremely poorly, i couldn't sit still, needed to keep myself busy otherwise I would have sat crying and fretting.

To clean your glass shower doors, spray them with a mix of vinegar and dish soap (Dawn if it's sold in the UK).. let that sit for 15 minutes, rinse off.. windex (or glass cleaner if necessary)

For the shower: Viakal is brilliant for a full-on clean but best thing to use is a squeegee straight after showering to avoid water marks 👍🏻 Please don’t feel guilty Dave!! There’s no way you could have known 💜 so glad you’ve got a diagnosis now so that you can manage it!

Hey Soph, the best thing that works for our glass in the bathroom (and I have tried LOADS of different products) is Cillit Bang Active Foam Soapscum and Shine. It’s a dream! 😃

For our glass shower screen we use on of those handheld squeegee things after every shower so that we don’t get dried spots then just use a glass cleaner with microfibre cloth once a week 😊

Shower door- get a bounce dryer sheet and get it wet! It’s amazing how well it works and no harsh chemicals in the air.

My parents have a glass door in their shower and what they do is keep a rubber squeegee in there and after each shower they squeegee the door. It helps prevent those like, water stains and makes cleaning it so much easier

At least you know what you are dealing with now, and can take the necessary precautions while knowing what to look out for. I am so sorry that Chip will have to take it easy when it comes to activities he loves, like chasing the ball etc., but I am sure he will soon get used to a slightly less fast paced life so he can stay healthy and medication free for as long as possible. You need to get the Minky glass cloth, I’ve always got it and it’s green but I’m not sure if you can get other colours but it’s amazing. I do my windows and eye glasses with one too! It’s like you can’t see the glass after. I’d clean the shower door with a bathroom cleaner then go over it with a glass with the minky. But the minky works well on its own too xxxx
