@michail_7777 ай бұрын
Hi and thank you. As a novice grid user I would like to ask you to change some 'details. The thing about the grid is that you connect blue to blue/red/yellow. Therefore, at first it is not clear how to connect everything correctly. I mean that the red output can be connected to the blue input and vice versa. So it would be cool if the user pulled out the “cable”, and the devices would already light up the input to which it can be connected.I understand what you explained in the video. But sometimes nothing happens at all when connecting. So it can get confusing very quickly. It may be a matter of habit, though.

@subobjectclassifier71705 жыл бұрын
currently working on this... will post a link here if successful
@bugeats5 жыл бұрын
Great! Yeah it’s probably fairly easy to do other equal temperaments, but that’s useless to me personally. It’s the full on tuning maps with just ratios and dynamic lattices that are hard. At the very minimum I wish Bitwig supported MIDI Tuning Standard.
@subobjectclassifier71705 жыл бұрын
@@bugeats I've found that 53-ET works exceptionally well in practice as a kind of "universal master scale", from which any interval occurring naturally within any authentic world-music tradition can be found within 2 cents or less. This is because dividing an octave into 53 equal parts results in an interval of 22.6415 cents (subsequently called the "Holdrian comma", where 1200 cents / 53 ≈ 22.6415 cents). This synthetic interval falls midway between the Syntonic comma (21.51 cents) and the Pythagorean comma (23.46 cents), the pair of naturally-arising commas so intrinsic to tuning systems and theory. Now in "Just Intonation", when any tone of a JI-scale needs to be made a bit sharper or flatter to keep in tune with a shifting tonic reference, it is incremented (decremented) by the value of a Syntonic comma. Adjusting by anything less would be heard as a detuning of the original pitch, and not a functioning change into an adjacent JI tuned value. Thus an octave divided into 53 commas lines up precisely with the smallest increment of change expected within any naturally-functioning (i.e. "just") intonation system, thus enabling a very close approximation to be made to any "natural" scale simply by selecting some subset of the 53-ET (Universal) scale.

I have one suggestion regarding adding grid tools/devices to the grid for people who know those devices/tools by name (and have a large screen resolution). Instead of having to move the mouse to the top left area every time to get to the "search" box, it would be really cool to find the search box directly inside the right-click context menu (the one that pops up when you right click into grids empty space). You could also show the right click context menu automatically by dragging out a spaghetti line from a grid tool and let go of it in the empty grid space where you want the next tool to be placed. If you then select from the context menu a tool, or search for one and add it, it auto connects with the device you drew the spaghetti from (spaghetti is of course the connection line between two grid-tools) ;) I enjoyed this straight forward behavior in 3D tools when putting together material node trees and similar stuff. It's highly efficient and is fun as well to work with ;) On a 4K and higher resolution display that is really neat! Absolutely fantastic software btw!! Love to play with bitwig more than I enjoyed Logic back in the day and that says alot ;) Amazing and fun software!
