I think we can beat ourselves up a little too much for not feeling motivated enough or not being able to summon motivation, when in fact, I rarely think it comes first. Everything we do is a cycle of things that feed into each other, and motivation is no exception.

Loved the part in which you mention looking back at a piece and "realizing that something could be better already made it worth to do it". Very inspiring to think of your own art work as beautiful lessons no matter how they turned out. But regarding your paintings, always lovely and thought provoking.

Some people are too literally minded and don't understand that great truths can't be represented literary but must be contained in metaphor. True beauty also often carries in it aspects of the grotesque. As always, I love your work. Thank you for sharing. You seem to be in a good place mentally and so I am glad you took the time you needed.

Oh, Myriam! You're exactly what I needed today after spending hours of feeling like a fraud and a failure and who am I to make art and blah blah. Your video was so motivating and honest and made me feel like I'm right to be doing what I do and to keep at it. I love the way you work, very organically and at your own pace and I needed someone to remind me of that. And I loved all the birdies footage. They're so cute ^_^.

Each painting was intriguing, technically impressive, and raw. So so beautiful. My favorite has to be Lucent. You did a stunning job capturing the luminescent quality of stained glass when struck with light. Portraying atmospheres in paint is incredibly difficult; you did such a beautiful job!!!

Your work is clearly a metaphor for the mind, not body horror. Evocative! I saw in one of your videos ages ago that in a previous career, you worked with horror make up …masks, latex, etc. Have you thought of sculpting your figurative work? What if through sculpture you break through your concerns over never being completely satisfied with your work. Your paintings are powerful! Just a suggestion.

I could? WAIT WAIT no. I don't know if I'm ready for commitment. Awesome work, I really liked the owl! Hope you laughed.

*meant as a compliment* I think you would make a really good art professor or even art teacher (younger kids). Not just by how you look and dress, but how you talk about art and your insecurities. I usually put art videos on in the background for while I work, but when you start talking directly to the camera in a video, I can't help but stop what I'm doing and look at you when you're talking. I think it would be a really good side thing for you, especially if you only did it recreationally instead of working full time. That way you have time for your own art.

For future reference, I think it would behoove you to post tripophobia warnings and a time skip button for folks to jump to because you've got A LOT of triggering work that will traumatize viewers. And I do understand what you are trying to do with your work. It is not my place to tell you how or what to do with it. But at the same time, I don't think it's fair, to let folks be confeonted with their fears and phobias, without warning. People have to be ready to confront them in their own time. You may inadvertently run viewers away, not giving them the freedom, to do so. I know you say your work isn't meant to be body horror but it has a very Junji Ito sensibility to it. And while I respect that depth of art, I myself cannot participate in enjoying becaus3 it is so triggering. I hope you will consider my suggestion and keep going.
