Myriam... forget about the numbers. They're just numbers. Concentrate on what you like doing. Forget about all the rest. It doesn't matter. Anyway, Happy Birthday. Don't forget to enjoy your life. * tips hat *

I'm 31. I think my 30s are going to be the best time of my life tbh. I've learned a lot about myself but there's still so much to learn. I feel like I'm finally confident enough now though to stand strong in my truth AND ignorance. To speak and to learn. ❤. Here's to our 30s! 🥂

Happy 30th Birthday Myriam. I hope you have the best year ever and that it is one of freeing up your time and your mind to enjoy all that wonderful creative energy that surges through your brain and your soul in an even deeper way than when you were younger. I relate to feeling like 30 is a good number, it’s a good birthday to have. One is more grounded and more sure of who they are becoming and what makes them them. Anxieties hinder all creatives… it impedes our path in ways that can be really debilitating, I really ached for you in this video when you were so overwhelmed by it all. I relate because fears have robbed my confidence sooo many times and just left me frozen. You inspire me, regularly, to push through and I am also learning to hush the anxious thoughts, to quieten their clamouring inside my mind. Every creative piece is scary, sometimes really terrifying. It’s so strange when these creations and manifestations of our own creativity frighten us in some way. They wait to be realised and yet for some inestimable reason we are too scared at times to birth them for fear that they may not be as we envisaged them, or they are nebulous and not quite tangible yet, but hover… waiting so. I have mourned so many unrealised works of creativity that my fears have buried inside me. The fear pushes them down and they slowly wither till I forget to water these ideas and then they are in danger of dying. I remember them with such sadness then because the urgency to birth them has also faded and I mourn that I lost that time to bring them to the surface and out through my hands and into the world. It’s then that I must push past the fear too lest they never come out.. never receive life, that’s even more terrifying to me. Thank you that you share your process and that more often than not you do push through and we share in your triumph of overcoming the fears and anxieties to birth your amazing works. I loved this video, you never cease to inspire and I catch my breath so often at your utter honesty and purpose in making and sharing your thoughts and processes with us. Blessings for your thirties and beyond.

Late happy B Day🥀🥀🥀!!! Fear is the only thing that we create without knowing how not to...fear doesn't exist without us, therefore we cannot make it rule our emotional world, we are the rulers of all our world. Besides, what can happen worst than make some mistakes that you can learn from! Is not an open heart surgery and having someone's life in your hands. Yes, it is time that you might lose but if you learn from your mistakes even time will bow to you. Just breath and enjoy creating, draw about fear don't let the fear draw your life. As a pro artist I can say it's hard, but if you stop to enjoy this beautiful job, you'll miss a lot of fun things!!!! Jump into it, lose yourself into it and enjoy doing it! 🤗🌹🤗

I totally get this overthinking spiral. I think a lot of artists struggle with the fear of starting a painting. I'm working on a big anime fanart project which I'm very excited about. I got 8 sketches (of 21) done, but I'm so scared of actually painting them, although I know that it will turn out fine. But, every day I'm not painting them, the fear of messing it up grows. It's pretty dump actually, since I got the sketch and could just transfer it on another piece of paper if I mess up and start all over again, but still... I'm also a teacher on Skillshare. If you want to learn how to print on fabric, I made two classes about that topic ^^

Hi Myriam. In the video you talk a bit about being afraid to start painting, and I wanted to offer a perspective. I have found that a lot of the fear of creation comes from worrying it wont live up to the concept in your head. But that doesn't have to be the end of it. You don't only ever get one chance with an idea. And in your case, some of my favorite pieces you've ever made were ones that you did another version of about a year later. But you probably couldn't have done the final piece without the intermediate one that you were unsatisfied. Anyways, hope that's a helpful perspective. I love your art and your videos so much!

Nice idea harvesting some mind-fruits. First I was not sure if they were weird looking apples or lemons, but I think lemons fit better as a symbol for fertility, purity and eternal life. There‘s a careful grab and concentrate view. I wonder what happens next with the crop....put them beside for a still life or make some juice of new thouhts🤔? Anyway an interesting piece of art. Keep up the good work 🐛

I think if you do alot of prep work for a piece you can aslo get kinda bored. There's not much room left for exploration as the actual creation process is underway. The happy accidents, unexpected turns and lessons a piece can give you. You sort of lose that if it's all mapped out beforehand. At least that's what I've found after I hit this huge creative block a while back. There's nothing wrong with preperation but it shouldn't become a limitation. ❤
