I debated a coworker about the women's soccer pay "scandal." I argued that they need to keep their issues out of the court of public opinion and renegotiate their bullshit contracts.* I was told that I don't care about equal pay for women. [Context: I am a working mom with two kids and a full-time job. I was debating my boss, the male CEO of the company. He makes more than me, obviously. Great to get these 2 together again. I’ve been training for almost 18 months now, I wasted the first 6 months doing rubbish bodybuilder type crap, I then followed a Mike Matthews BLS type program for a few months and have now been following SS for a couple of months. Both programs are great and these two guys really know what they’re talking about. There’s a lot of nonsense out there in the fitness industry to avoid if you’re a newbie. Start with the advice of one of these 2! Great video 👍 more of this type of stuff please

Aman Ahluwalia honestly.... no 🤣 but I’ve done 8 weeks of something pretty close to SS. I know “I’m not doing the program” but it’s still having decent results, I plan to read it though. I’ve just this week added GOMAD and it has helped. Planning to probably run SS until LP slows or stops and then maybe go for BLS again properly. I’ve made some KZbin videos to track my progress, the main issue I’m having is form while training at home without a coach but I’m slowly improving

This FFMI thing is great, made me look at myself differently :) With a BMI of 31 and a 26 % BF most would say you are fat (obese !) but with an FFMI 23 it all looks much better. I am 34, 1,83, 105 kg, waist 104 cm. BF by US NAVY method, also relevant comapared to reference physique photos ... Although still not strong by Starting Strength standards, I try my best ... The biggest limiting factor for strength growth here in Central Europe that most gyms have no safety racks ... this limits your bench and squat by a great deal ... especially after a bad experience of squatting down with a 100 kilos and not being able to stand back up, shouting for help :) Pre lockdown Bench 95 kg, Squat 140 kg, Deadlift 180 kg, Press 50 kg. Keep up the great job with the Podcast !

Tried out the FFMI CALCULATOR. Normalized FFMI= 24.782. According to the website this is in the 95+ percentile and 24-25 is an elite strength athlete. I’ve been lifting less than 2 years and have a very hard time putting any validity to this. For the sake of the argument, I’ve only had a caliper for 3 weeks, but it’s very straightforward to use so I doubt it would skew too far one way or the other... I highly doubt that I’m exceptional here..

@Goriaas5 жыл бұрын
vegan diet is not deficient in carbs. That's bullshit. Protein, Fats and some vitamins(Bs D) iron and some other nutrients sure, those can be lacking. But vegan diets being too low in carbs is just nonsense. You can easily get enough calories as a vegan
