@@willmcclard206 By the looks, he lost a bit of traction at the rear - his reaction to it seems about right for someone who has dirt experience. As a motorcyclist for ages I'm still amazed at how 'slow' bikes are compared to cars on this track. Yet cars cannot get close to the record at the Isle of Man.
@kenvanpassen92472 ай бұрын
It's because of the Isle of Man's layout. A lot of left right combinations on the TT can be taken nearly flatout on a bike because they are narrow and can ride a nearly straight line through all those combinations, wheras a car, being much wider, has to slow down alot to avoid crashing into curbs or walls. At the Ring bikes don't have this advantage and lose out against the car's superior cornering speeds and later braking.
@Jonathan_Doe_2 ай бұрын
@@kenvanpassen9247The “threading the needle” aspect is part of it… But it’s mainly due to the fact they rarely do flat out, timed car runs on the TT course, so the driver practice, and vehicle development isn’t there. It’s much more dangerous for spectators, and buildings, so they keep it to bikes and sidecars. A car with full aero and a 220mph top speed could probably beat a bike on the TT.
@EvLSpectre2 ай бұрын
@@Jonathan_Doe_ yep. Last record attempt was still a minute off i think.
@derbigpr5002 ай бұрын
Of course they can. Any supercar would easily break the TT record. Give some skilled driver a 911 GT3 RS and it's gonna easily do it. The reason cars aren't holding the TT record is not because they can't, but because there's barely any car scene taking place there and nobody seriously attempted to do the record runs in serious cars.

Very very nice lap m8! You definitely have potential to beat the WR! There were quite a handful of turns where you hugged the apex slightly too closely and had to adjust, you lost bit of speed through each of those + you have plenty of corners where you were still shy on exit throttle, which is very understandable :) But when you get those tuned up, I'm pretty sure you'll beat it! But in the process, please stay alive :)
