😄😄😄 I'd eat it for rent month... eh... week. 😄 I'd probably put it in a baking dish and slather a bechamel sauce over and bake it so my kids would eat it, though. They wouldn't touch this, but bechamel makes everything delicious as far as they're concerned. 😜

The Pandemic Doesn't mean you are starving at home. You are allowed to go to the grocery store. You can also order online and pick up for free at Walmart or get free delivery with a minimum order. Lots of places to get delivery from so you are not starving on left over canned food at the back of the pantry.

Italians, in particular, get very pressed over silly rules and definitions for foods. Don't say the word "carbonara" in front of an Italian unless you've made it explicitly the exact very same way their great-great-great-great grandmother made it or they will literally shit themselves in front of you.

I was _just_ thinking about what to do with my surplus of canned salmon in my cupboards these past couple of days and stumbled upon this video... although I'm thinking of doing something with some spaghettini or linguine, zucchini, lemon, garlic, some thyme or oregano, a bit of butter, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Hopefully that all works together.

I would like to see a show on HOW to work with canned /tinned jarred spices... I have a pantry FULL of them. I lean heavily on powdered garlic and onion and then basil or Italian seasoning.. maybe some smoked paprika.. but the rest just SIT in my cupboard... mustard seed, oregano, bay, the usual suspects. I have gotten addicted to BERBER seasoning.. but I know that dried seasoning is often frowned upon but hey, struggle.. ya kno?

I used to serve up canned salmon and cucumber sandwiches for Christmas tea. Well drained salmon, good, thick mayonnaise, a little finely chopped dill, a little finely grated lemon zest, lemon juice, black pepper. I mixed it together and let it sit in the fridge while I buttered the bread, made pots of tea, sliced and placed the cucumber on half of the buttered slices of bread. I would spread the salmon on the cucumbered bread, slap the top slices on, slice in half and pile onto big plates. The coffee table would be cleared and the evening feast of sandwiches, tea, mince pies and Christmas cake would begin. Even though my family had been eating and snacking all day there wasn't a single sandwich left.

Frankie, I love your shows- every one of them! But didn't you know that Salmon bones add a wealth of calcium! The skin is also a viable powerhouse of added Omega 3's and protein. That is why they leave them in the can - they boost the nutritional value abundantly. I have to admit though, the skin does look and feel a little slimy when preparing, but doesn't egg white also? Keep up the awesome shows!!!

I'm not Italian, not a drop, so I have absolutely no compunction about using cheese with fish (but only with tuna). Since I'm severely allergic to salmon, my canned fish is always the mighty albacore tuna, and I make a number of very good dishes with it, using cheese, vegetables, pasta, rice, whatever's on hand. It's probably good only in my opinion (and since I'm the only one eating anything I cook, if it's good to me, then it's good!)

I think the right way to turn this into a neat looking "pie" would require : 6 beaten eggs, 1/5 litres of cream, 1 litre of milk, 2 heaping table spoons of tomato pure, salt-pepper-dried basil mixture. Leftover pasta, shredded fish and (no one knows why) the chickpeas mixed with this custard mixture would come out perfect... But seriously... why the chickpeas tho?

I don't have any canned salmon in my pantry (which is actually a bookcase that I had to repurpose into a pantry because I have virtually no cabinet space), but I do have a lot of other canned food. My one real draw back is that I don't have much canned meat. I don't get to do any "real" grocery shopping until the 5th which is Saturday. I am tremendously thankful that I don't have to wait too long to hopefully get some groceries and do a little stocking up on canned goods.
