Great, i'm looking forward to this series. About sticking to one car: I would add that at the same time one should not be afraid to try others cars. For example, if you main car is mid engined, try a front engine car and see how it behaves and try to match your laptimes. I did this and saw improvements for my driving in mid engine cars, because i realized, that i have overdriven the ferrari too much, which was somewhat masked, because mid engine cars are inherently more responsive. When i jumped into front engine cars, this fault in my driving became apparent, because i had to drive in a more anticipatory way. Maybe it is just me, but i think it would have taken me way longer to correct some of my driving mistakes and bad habits, if i would not have switched cars for some time. I also found new love for the ferrari, which became a bit stale after 100h of exculsively driving it.
@localrocker6663 жыл бұрын
The problem i think as well is alot of people have jumped into ACC from either non sim games or older games that maybe just dont have the realism to provide you with good training. One of the downsides of ACC stellar simulation of the cars, is that the cars are a quite high level of motorsport in of themselves, to drive them fast you need to understand what is going on with the car and this isnt immediately apparent if you haven't had the training, for example, driven slower classes or cars where their characteristics are more apparent for learning. Just like real life you just dont step into a high class of car with no experience and if you do you generally need an entire team explaining it to you, in Sim Racing you can be on your own in this regard. I for one, having never driven iracing (coming from GTR2 essentially) for example prior to many months in ACC, where i had i would say, above average, decent pace found that driving the slower cars in Iracing taught me much more about what was actually going on in the car and has improved my driving across the board. So in that regard, i would agree that changing cars can be very helpful for learning what is going on.
@pldcanfly Жыл бұрын
I noticed that as well. After getting my feet wet the first time I decided to choose my car. I lapped every car around Spa for 10 Laps and made notes. I didn't look at the times, and more on how the car feels. The cars that survived that went on to Nürburgring, and so on. I learned that I like mid and rear-engines more. Before that I drove the McLaren, but fell a bit in love with the porsche. So I practiced with that car. The funny thing is, when I felt like the car is getting to hard for my skill and the goals I wanted to reach, I switched back to the McLaren, and was immediately a lot faster then before. So taming the Porsche to some degree made me a better driver in general. While one should focus on a car in the beginning, driving other cars can teach you things because that other car NEEDS it to function, while your car is correcting errors for you.

YES. This is the content we need. "Take dry line in the wet" *scribbles notes furiously* (legitimately thought ideal line in the wet was no-go in ACC)
@Jaaames3 жыл бұрын
😡😂
@Tortellinii3 жыл бұрын
Wet line in ACC is weird but it exists but it’s hard to make use of it, when there is transition from wet dry to wet from full optimum and there are not many cars on the track there is still rubber on the line and it’s sloppy, then you can try using something that resembles wet line, brake off the line or use different exit, but all that is not that beneficial and that rubber gets washed out in a matter few laps, the more cars on the track the faster it will disappear, and then of course you just use normal line. Also when it starts raining and you are on slicks you can get some marbles on the tyres but it’s also not that effective as I think it could be, slicks grain so quickly and so much on wet and in low temp in ACC

Hey James, just wanted to add, that if you set your Fanatac/Thrustmaster/Logitech wheel rotation to 900, and in-game wheel rotation number to 900 as well, the game automatically adjusts the wheel rotation for each car.
@speedracercry67713 жыл бұрын
It works not only with 900. As an example im playing with 760

Fair enough! I didn't know that, I'd always change it manually just so I'm 100% sure it's right, but that's just me😅
@Tortellinii3 жыл бұрын
The problem with that is that you don’t get soft lock unfortunately which you did on original AC, so if you want to have a soft lock then you need to set rotation for all the cars manually in both windows and in game, but since in acc you rarely go lock to lock you can just use full 900 wheel rotation both in Windows and ingame and let game align everything
@DanielJoseph973 жыл бұрын
@@Tortellinii Oh that's interesting. Well this 900 in and out of game was what Aris suggested in one of his videos a while back. But I should try out this way and see if there's any difference.

Morning gents. I follow you both. May I ask some advice please? I have a high end set up: Fanatec DD2 etc... RTX 3090 Suprim X etc... Trak Racer TR160 etc... I am currently running triple 43” 4K ASUS monitors. A- Am I expecting too much of my PC to successfully perform ACC on these monitors? B- What, in your opinion is the ‘ultimate’ monitor size to get the maximum potential from my Reign Vanguard Supreme PC? C- What ‘advanced settings’ resolution should I set them at? Thank you. Richard
@chepilevski3 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard 🤛 I believe with 43 inches size monitors you can successfully recreate the proper scale of you virtual world and my only advice is to play a bit with the eye distance settings! For example, in this size you probably have your monitors behind your wheel base and the physical distance is probably over 70cm ! Try to put in game around 50cm distance and play a bit with your seat distance in the software! That will give you more sense of speed because of the depth of the picture you gonna get ! For the resolution I believe triple 4k is hard even for your RTX 3090 and you will need to play a bit with the graphics settings to get fluid gaming experience! You probably have to ask Will from boosted media for his game settings! I use triple 1440p and my 3090 just manage to keep 65-75 fps on maximum settings! And lastly, your monitors size is more then enough and anything above that is overkill! And the size doesn’t matter for the PC performance! Performance depends on the resolution! Have a great day buddy 🤛

I've messed with the setting before, but honestly didn't know what was what. After just a few quick laps at Silverstone I'm close to a second faster because I can actually feel what the tires are doing and catch the slide before I'm facing the wrong way. While all the advice in the video is great, if you're pretty new to Fanatec or just a dumbski like me these setting are like a gift from God.

Just wanna mention that ACC does have varying track conditions. So if the track is rubbered in, it’ll be very slippery when wet on the dry line when it starts raining. After some laps in rain, the rubber washes off and dry line can be used again.

This is just what I needed man, and it’s really helpful to have tips on the wheel rotation as it can vary so much from car to car on ACC and causes me lots of headaches trying to find what works best! In the car setup you can obviously adjust this too (under mechanical grip), am I right in thinking you leave this untouched in the set and just strictly keep to 480 in the McLaren for example?
@alvarodelaorden89013 жыл бұрын
I might be mistaken but I strongly think the wheel rotation was adressed several updates ago, and right now you just have to set your wheel rotation in ingame controls settings and that´s all, the rotation will adjust automatically depending on the car you choose.

I was looking for some tips and advice cause I'm at that sweet spot of being 2,5-3 second slower than the aliens, and watching lap guides won't really help anymore cause I just can't spot 2 tenths of a second per corner. Starting to get a bit frustrated with this whole sim racing thing to be honest, but now I know where I might loose that time. My braking is still messy as hell and I had my mind set on getting that text book perfect trail brake pedal input instead of focusing on the perfect weight transfer. Which is the whole bloody point of it. And that bit on downshifting may explain why I can make a corner one lap, and overshoot it completely in the next one, while braking at the same exact spot. Now, off to practice!
