The Villages does not have a fitness facility included with amenities. Instead, there are seven outdoor fitness areas for residents to work out. This video takes The Newcomers to one of them at the Rohan Rec Center. You'll find a wide of machines to build muscle and endurance. Come along with us for a short demonstration of this great way to keep in shape.

seems like working out at home would be somewhat more effective. I do and I am healthier than 95% of my contemporaries... this equipment is good for getting yourself out of the house. You really would need a workout coach to instruct one on how to get the most out of these great machines so that you could start seeing results and not get frustrated with not seeing results... Thanks for the video and thanks for all that you do for us newcomers!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.. SEE YA WHEN I GET THERE... NEXT YEAR... waiting for more inventory and prices to level off. We have a 7 day lifestyle stay in February...

They have this where I live in Massachusetts although it is not as nice and as many machines. I was waiting for you to realize that some of those machines are set up for a person in a wheelchair so you cracked me when you didn't : ). It's interesting because you are showing a person who is really tiny like Linda and someone who is really tall like Jerry use the same machines. I plan on spending 2 nights in TV in November and I'm going to look for this if I get lucky enough to have beautiful weather while I am there. Thank you for another wonderful video!

There is a set of these at the Marion Rec center and also Laurel Manor These two places have the cushion over the cement in case you fall. It was great to see you guys work them because I was never sure what to do Thank You 🙏 Linda and Jerry

i AM BEHIND ON WATCHING YOU TWO! WHAT A GREAT SHOW! Thanks for the tip that we can watch a video to see how to work some of that equipment. Michael and I went with both of our daughters when we were all there in May - and we had a lot of fun. Great exercises and it doesn't cost anything extra - it's in the amenity fee ... along with all the classes and everything else that The Villages has to offer. Hello again, I'm Randall from Maryland. Very informative. Linda is the little energy bug. She did each machine longer than you Jerry, to your credit you did your turn on the machines with faster motions. Linda should have coached you slower 😀 I missed Gizmo this go around. Maybe the residents of The Villages could request the parking lot be closer in future developments within The Villages. I see the overall attraction to The Villages, they have nearly everything one can imagine. The facilities are thought out very well. One wouldn't necessarily need a gym membership. Get up early in the summers and do the work out. I imagine the winters would be lovely at those out door machines, that might save some residents a little money. Jerry you are like me. I speak to everyone also. It brightens the day, you never know who you might meet or make friends with and makes for a friendly environment.

Health is wealth! Nice video of the outdoor equipment. The longer walk to the machines is a great warm-up to get the cardio going. That way muscles are warm when you use the weights, less chance at muscle injury. The walk back can be slower for a great cool down, lets your cardio return to normal :-). We also noticed that the farther away machines had wheelchair accessible signs attached which is why those positions may have seemed awkward to you both. What a great, easy way to check off your exercise routine in short amount of time, energize your day a few days a week. Fantastic. Thanks again for the video :-)

You don’t get quite as much extension, but you both did great!! I think that that first one that Linda was at, may have been for leg raises. It looks like you would face the machine and raise your leg out to the side.

The machine that Linda does at 10:35 appears to be for people in wheelchairs or other mobility devices. It has the same action as the seated option on the other side, just without the seat. And that piece of equipment also has the handicapped accessible sign on it. Same thing at 14:35.
