Kicking off a series of short videos about how to get the most out of your Yomi experience. This episode is all about how to pick you combat card - when should you throw as opposed to attack, when should you dodge as opposed to block?
If you're looking for more information about Yomi, or have a question you'd like to ask the online community, check out the forums at www.fantasystri...
Good luck, have fun!

Hi Lucas! KZbin isn't allowing me to reply to your comment directly: I would say that's probably true. Throw is not as efficient at dealing damage as attack, it is riskier than attack because it loses to attacks, which are the highest payoff damage. However, it is almost impossible to win without throwing, because blocking is so good, and in the late game, dodging is so low risk compared to a direct attack.

Don't know if you'll see or respond to this, but I am looking at getting some of this game, probably just one of the Rounds or 4 individual characters. Are there any you would recommend? I'm pretty familiar with both fighting games and card games.

+Jon Cherry Great question! Hmm. I think I would recommend Round 1 if you're going for one of the package deals - the characters, while having really strong, distinct styles, have slightly more even match-ups against each other than the Round 2 group, which has two quite challenging fights. If you're thinking of picking up individual characters, however, I would recommend the following: Rook (for a classic grappler type), Setsuki (for the classic rush-down type), Vendetta (for the fan of the vortex character), Argagarg (for the hard zoning character). If you know a particular archetype (grappler/rushdown/vortex/zoner) really appeals to your group, or one of those is particularly hated (looking at your, zoners), then I'd tailor the list to the group. If you're really new to Yomi, check out some match videos on my channel, or some of the related channels to get some idea of what it plays like and what some of the characters play like! :)If you have any other questions, don't hesitate; I love talking about this stuff. :)
