Getting Hostile Over a Hostel

The plaintiff rented a room at the defendant’s hostel, but then his clothes were stolen. He’s suing for damages. The defendant says she can’t put cameras in rooms, but she did provide a locker with a lock for the plaintiff to put his belongings in, so it’s not her fault if he didn’t use it.
