About 6 years ago during the winter, I locked us out of our home accidentally, we luckily had a very long ladder outside and my oldest son climbed it to the second story where a bedroom window was open a little bit. Needless to say, I had to fix the window screen and my kids still remember that night and laugh about it. LOL Mimmi and the chickens are so sweet.

Yay!! Vlogtober is here! I watched on my phone with headphones, and couldn't hear the background noise until I turned the volume right up when you weren't talking. It's similar to the noise I have in my ears all the time! 🤪

Yay Vlogtober! I typically watch KZbin on the TV. When you mentioned the sound, which i couldn't hear, i grabbed some earbuds. I could hear it then. It sounds like life sounds, a fan or a low hum of a dishwasher or shower running? Not at all annoying, and i have noise anxiety. Such a bummer that you didn't get what you were hoping for though. And i totally felt your frustrations with Dan 🤣 thru the screen, glad he's not dead!

Owl brolly!!! 🦉 Just the other day my husband was saying that in addition to changing a tire, everyone should know how to pick a lock. For the new camera I couldn't really hear the noise until you mentioned what it was, and then I could hear just a faint buzz like when older TVs didn't receive a station and the screen was all black and white pixels. 📺 Rather frustrating that, especially on a brand new out-of-the-box camera! I am watching this vlog on my desktop computer with speakers. And boo for Curry not having a battery in the camera or someone on the ball to help you out. October is just coming in like a lion and will leave like a lamb! 🤞

Lovely and so real. Lots of people would have cut out the unfortunate times but it happens to all of us. It’s one of the reasons you are like a friend. Could you buy the camera without the demo battery and return it if it didn’t work out? The noise is there but definitely not disruptive to me. Anyway thrilled it is October the best month of year in my opinion. Crisp leaves on the sidewalks, beautiful blue skys and sweater weather. Perfect for a knitter. Just started a new cowl on the needles with mohair and merino sock yarn in dusty pinks and mossy greens.

Great video of family life. I was running around like a headless chicken about a month ago, when I could not find my spectacles, then my mobile phone and picked up the landline which went dead, I freaked out, anyway normal service was resumed within the hour. Best wishes.

I always think of the first of October as freedom Day after the personal horrors of summer I suffer very much from a deep dislike of that season yesterday was for me wonderful I completely understand that rain wind etc is terrible things but to me it's freedom and joy and having Halloween etc to look forwards to and enjoy thank you for being part of my favourite things for this season to watch and enjoy my wife and I both enjoy your blog

I watch on a kindle tablet and only heard it because you mentioned it, so i put on ear buds and turned up the sound. It's not distracting and I barely hear it at a lower sound level. Can't hear it at all without earbuds. Ugh, I hate electronics stores where there is no one around when you need one. and I know nothing about technology. See you tomorrow.

Pro tip: in Australia you can buy little lock boxes which you can attach to your house and have a spare set of keys in there. You access it via a pin. I think we paid less than $20 for our current one.

Happy Vlogtober! The noise isn't nearly as noticeable on the new camera (on an android phone, no earbuds), sounds like really distant traffic...easy to tune out. I look like an idiot when I leave the house because I check for my keys about 8 times, I'm prone to forgetting them. In other words...been there, done that. 🤦 Here's hoping the month gets better 🍻❤

Couldn't hear the noise because its so windy outside that's all I can haer! I would be tempted to go to a proper camera shop I've never found currys that helpful .Just going to enjoy sitting and knitting today and in may even crochet a jam jar cover I feel I need a seasonal mantel display .

Here’s a tip Brenda - oil them VERY lightly before putting the eggs in. I put mine in boiling water for 4 minutes for medium eggs but it can take a bit of trial and error with timings, even 15 seconds can make a difference. 😋😋😋

Hello. Loving the vlogs. Sounded just like husband and I - he would totally be in the dog house too and then totally forgiven. By the way - he jokes that if he sees you on his travels putting up scaffolding around your part of Kent he will ask for your autograph! Not my Cat is so funny that he’s jealous of the chickens. I am desperately trying to persuade husband to have a couple of chickens. I love Vlogtober! I heard a little bit of background noise, but not until you pointed it out. I'm watching on a laptop with no headphones. It didn't bother me at all. I totally understand being annoyed with getting locked out - especially in the rain! One time we thought we had locked ourselves out and my husband was figuring out how to crawl in a window. Luckily I went and checked out the back door and we had happened to leave it unlocked! I'm not sure either of us would have been able to climb in a window!!

I love the footage and stories about the Chickens. I miss having chickens. When I was in my twenties my parents, two brothers and I lived in Beaverton, Oregon together and we had 6 chickens. We loved getting their beautiful brown eggs! Watching your chickens scratching and exploring is fun - they are curious and cute.🙂 I must ask about the soft boiled egg rubber cooking cups - can you please share what they are called and where to buy them? I'm in the USA so I may have to search for them by their name. Thanks! I think rain is gorgeous and I miss it so very much. In Santa Fe, NM there is very little rain except for parts of the year and I quite miss the seasons changing and healthy doses or even down pours of rain. It's just not the same without it. Thanks so much Lori!! 😘✨ The egg poachers are silicone egg poachers, I’ve had them forever and I think you can get them on Amazon. The tip is - oil them VERY lightly. Then plop into boiling water for 4 minutes and you *should* have perfect poached eggs! Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get the timing right 🍳 😋

Right now I poach my eggs in boiling water with 1 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar added. Sometimes they come out well and sometimes the whites float around and spread out too much. I think it's how I put them into the water. I really liked how the Silicone Egg Poacher worked. I have a great poached egg recipe to share with you. I'll send it by email.🙂❤

I didn’t notice the camera sound on my IPad until you mentioned it. To me it sounds the the lense autofocusing. I hear it a lot with other podcasters. When your talking, it’s not even an issue.
