HW takes a look at how to get more out of Neural Amp Modeler int he way of EQ. NAM pairs well with all sorts of other plugins and using pretty much any EQ plugin we can get a huge amount of control over out captures in NAM!

Sounds superb, HW - would be nice to put NAM into a unit. I'm really curious as to how it'll sound on the updated Kemper!

How hot are you hitting the NAM? At instrument level or is there a certain DB range we should shoot for when sending signal to it? It looks like the input meter is pretty high so maybe I haven’t been giving it enough signal.

HW, can you tell me which studio monitors are you using when playing your captures? Since you never use headphones while filming your videos, you must use some monitors.

so all your amp’s captures sound good with these monitors? I’m asking because up to now I’ve been only playing amp’s captures on headphones and need to try good monitors for home studio guitar playing, not only for listening to recorded music.

Are you experiencing a lot of latency, or is that just some kind of video/sound sync issue I'm experiencing right now? How is NAM on Oversampling and anti-aliasing?

The EQ in Nam is just a simple 3 band EQ. Nothing wrong with it but you can do a lot more fine tweaking with something like a parametric eq or something with the ability to do shelves. IMHO.

Very Nice HW. When I use NAM I get a ridiculous amount of latency. You seem to have absolutely none and you are going through a DAW (I presume with the EQ you are using?).
@northern_foxx
@northern_foxx Жыл бұрын
you shouldn't get more than using any other plugin - if you're having issues with the standalone maybe try it in the DAW too. But generally buffer < 128 @ 48khz should be pretty good latency wise - does depend on the system though.
@jasonalexander5253
@jasonalexander5253 Жыл бұрын
@@northern_foxx thanx for answer. Maybe I should be in 48k in my DAW. Is that the recommended setting for using NAM?
@northern_foxx
@northern_foxx Жыл бұрын
@@jasonalexander5253 yep! actually its the _only_ correct setting at the moment. It's not quality related, it's because the plugin is expecting it and the data will process at the wrong rate if you don't (for now)

Anyone knows about the actual latency performance?
@northern_foxx
@northern_foxx Жыл бұрын
it really depends on your hardware - otherwise it's the same as any other plugin. RTL for my setup is around 5ms (as measured) using an M1 mac and evo 4. On my primary desktop (windows) RTL is more like 8-12 ms. None of that is really NAM related though, it's just computer/interface related. NAM doesn't introduce additional latency on top of that
