lol on the PS reservoir leak - the E90s are the same. The new one leaks almost as bad as the old one, right out the box! 😂

E46 best car 😅 Just got my MaxxECU for my 330ci turbo. Getting ready to get that tuned and a Dodge 8hp70 installed. Should be a ripper.

is it my imagination or are old school BMWs like this M3 coupe more fun to work on? (compared to recent M3 within the last 3 to 5 years) Just wondering.... 😍

I'd much rather work on the older BMWs

I can’t tell if he’s joking: is 60k rod bearings seriously considered a maintenance item?

They also want you to manually adjust valve lash every 30k miles or so.
@dennislaan81568 ай бұрын
Yep, that's the cost of having a M3 e46
@hauptmannoffensichtlich23128 ай бұрын
It's a sports car thing, really. The M3 is a sports car, BMW expects people to drive them way harder than your average daily driver, therefore specs are a lot tighter and many drivetrain parts wear out much faster than on daily drivers.

Need to get rid of that rubber steering guibo and get a solid one, night and day difference for steering feel
@jimboi64008 ай бұрын
Genuine question... Are you replacing the rod bearing without doing a clearance check? Or is there no need considering your not replacing the rod itself?? Great video as always 🔥

Do you know of a good BMW mechanic in NJ? Picked up a 99 M3 and just watched your short clip of the 99 e36 maintenance.. I need same type work done

How much would all that work cost with you?
@WilliamBurdine8 ай бұрын
Out of curiosity, do you think this should be done with an e46 330i with 267k miles on it. The engine has NO Oil Leaks or Vacuum Leaks and produces great power. A Lot of maintenance stuff was recently done, full Cooling system replacement, full vacuum hoses, all new sensors, new intake gasket and TB gasket, new DISA, oil pan gasket was redone recently as well.
@jameswhite13198 ай бұрын
Nope I leave it alone

No, that engine is good. No rod bearings needed 👍

Like the detail and the explanations but I think comparing the length of a bolt that was fitted and another from a completely different batch down to 0.025" is not really going to give a valid comparison. Measure BMW bolt, fit it and torque to BMW spec, then measure the same bolt and see where you end up.
@JamiesGarage18 ай бұрын
Excellent point, I actually exactly that in another video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYeoZGVoqZKip9ksi=Lzbl7czQsWSL5qTe
