Isaac, for what it's worth: your Dad is about same age as me, although he's a few months younger, but he would want you to use everything he used. It would make him so proud for you to carry it all on with his stuff. That's what I'd want for my children. I get you though, I'm restoring a 1940 Johnson outboard motor, that belonged to my Dad, and he took my brother and me fishing using it on a rented Jon Boat when we were very little kids. Emotional? You betcha. I am right now the exact same age as he, when he passed 31 years ago. Awesome content.

Man I remember that feeling when my dad died. There were alot of things i saw and used at the property I knew he was the last one to touch before he left for Afghanistan the last time and didn't come back. I hadn't thought about those thoughts for about 10 years now. Keep that tractor friend. Find some space for it!

That is one really tidy Massey for her age, your dad took good care of it. I know you're not a tractor person as such but did I see a slight twinkle in your eyes once you realised it was sparking out the exhaust ;) Good to let her go to someone who needs/wants it more- I'd bid you on it !

Those Fergisons were known for their longevity. Pretty saught after almost to a cult following. I would look up a Massey Ferguson web page and list it there. I lost my dad in 1979. He was 70 years old, old enough to be my grandfather. Now that my wife passed last September I find myself missing them both terribly. Hold those tools like you are holding your dad's hands. Let the memories bring you smiles. They may be a bit wistful but smiles none the less. I'm here for you if you need to talk. It helps. Terry

Lost my mom a year and 2 months ago now... still hurts. That is a beautiful Massey Ferguson bro. Your dad kept a clean tractor. It probably ran great when he was running it. It has decades of good service left in it if you care for it. You need to rig it to pull your car trailer so you can drive it in a parade or something. CarsandCameras parade float! Anyway Its a really cool old tractor. If you do sell it... make sure it goes to someone who understands what a gem they are getting.

My dad passed 3 years next month. 11th Oct 2021. My heart goes out to you and yours. It's hitting me hard on days like this when I have to go to his garage and use his and my equipment we built up here to maintain this 4.6 acres and 2 homes. He made sure everything was here to get most jobs done. I mean almost anything. Your dads garage looks just like my dads. It hit me hearing that crack in your voice when you spoke of the brake cleaner. A lot of stuff is still in the exact same spot he left it. I put it back exactly every time I use anything. LOL I'm sure it gets easier with time, as they say. I'm still struggling. You are not alone, Brother. MLHR

We had the same tractor, but it was a gas burner. It had one of those "rattle can restorations" done in the '90s. I cut a lot of grass with that tractor. I moved out to the family property to help take care of my grandmother and it was gone! I was heartbroken. My grandma had sold it to her brother, and replaced it with a JD1023e. Nothing against that little john deere, but just the yard is 10 acres. It takes forever to cut grass with thaatlittle 40inch bush hog. The little tractor isnt even heavy enough to grade the driveway. I miss my Massey Ferguson.

Lost my father many years ago, I still find treasures going through his old tools. That ole Massey is still in pretty good condition, you should be able to fetch 1500- 2500 for it, just depends on finding the buyer. Bet that would keep your road clean at your ocean side house, just find a bush hog for the back.

Smooth running machine there, was wondering why it's so wide int he rear 'til I saw the way the wheels are mounted, clever setup there, no idea how it works, but it looks like they can be pulled in to fit narrower gaps, or pushed out to improve stability... :)
@J3N5_K1NG3 ай бұрын
If i'm not mistaken, the wheel setup is meant to allow adjustment depending on the width of rows when you spray/fertilize your fields. Very common on older equipment.👍 Might be wrong but that's my guess😏

Sparking out the exhaust is equivalent to a burnout! Inheriting a tractor is a tough emotional situation. I inherited a Farmall H tractor that my grandfather used, my dad used and I drove while growing up on the farm. What the 7734 am I going to do with a tractor when I live in town? All the memories and emotions are there and would love to keep it, but it is just not practical. Tough situation.

Starting a tractor by standing next to it is a good way to get run over by it. Happens all the time. Serious injuries or death is very possible. My brother was run over jumping a tractor. He thought he took it out of gear. But it was in gear and started quickly and ran him right over.
