@@CommentsRage as far as I know, it's actually in reverse: men are encouraged to wear haircuts like the leaders. Korea is pretty conservative on men's hairstyles.

In fact, media reporting on this subject has contradicted itself, at one point claiming that men were required to have Kim Jong-un's haircut, while simultaneously reporting that it was illegal to copy Kim Jong-un's haircut. That picture on the wall in the barbershop is like the books he was asking for. They are different in different barbershops. I've seen videos in other North Korean barbershops with completely different posters.

Getting a haircut outside where you are from is a MUST! I got one in Japan so I guess the leaning forward wash is an asian thing. I was surprised that I did not get water and stuff in my face. I really enjoyed it.

At first it looked like a botched execution attempt but it came good in the end. Maybe You could do more 'hair cut videos' in god forlorn places like the 'Mongolian steppes mow', or 'The Patagonian blunt shears freedom hairdo' lining up with the Lamas etc. Just a thought.

What an amazing trip, thank you so much for documenting this, you def. need more subs. I was completely obsessed with this series, getting a well documented outside look at DRNK, would love to go there some time, but there's obviously risk involved, and I'm not sure I'm willing to take that on. That Otto guy was an idiot, taking down propaganda like that, so I don't feel terribly bad for him, but either way there's a higher than most possibility that you don't come back, and that's enough to deter me. Looks like an absolutely beautiful country, though! Very cool series!

Great price! I got my hair cut this week by a little old Chinese lady at a barbers in Kuala Lumpur and it cost me £2 but she didn’t give me a massage 😂

Okay, I like your videos, but I must beg to differ with you about your supposed lack of support for the North Korean Regime. First, you've given them tourist dollars which directly supports the regime and you're making videos that make North Korea, a country worse than Nazi Germany who uses your tourist dollars to torture its own citizens in labor camps and to fly missiles over INNOCENT Japanese civilians, you're making it look like a nice place to visit instead of warning your viewers that there is a chance (albeit a small one) they could be forceably taken to a North Korean labor camp. It happens. I liked your channel until this. I'm unsubscribing. This is socially and morally irresponsible.

i see ur point but at the same time he is there to show us the experience that u are given when u visit the country. He obviously cant show us the parts of the country he isnt shown. Another thing is that if he was to talk bad about the country in any way in those videos in the footage inside of north korea he would probably be in big trouble (i know those videos were obviously edited after the tour). He probably has no intent to actually make this country looking better than it actually is. I mean u cant really disagree with him when he is saying that the nature he is shown is beatiful if u get what i mean.

Gregor Bock He's showing us almost the EXACT same tour everyone gets in North Korea, so there is nothing new and informative about North Korea. He's just promoting it as a viable tourist destination, which again is like encouraging tourism in Nazi Germany. Moreover, if he has edited these videos after leaving the country (which we all know must be the case), he has had AMPLE opportunities talk about things he hasn't filmed. However, none of this matters. The bottom line is still and will always be that he gave money to the North Korean regime by being a tourist. It is utterly dishonest for him to put that message at the beginning of his videos. If you don't support North Korea, DON'T GO THERE. Go to South Korea, go to Japan, go to Hong Kong. Pardon me but FUCK NORTH KOREA. It is easily one of the WORST countries in the world.

I read somewhere that they are only allowed those couple of hair cuts, and women are only allowed to style their hair a couple different ways. And if they do any different it's like they broke the law. And no one is allowed to have the leader's hair cut either

@@IndigoTraveller this isn't true, actually. A quick search on Google will show the multitude of conflicting reports on haircuts. Some claim that students are required to copy Kim's haircut style, while others claim that it is illegal to copy Kim's haircut style. The posters you see are like the books in western barbershops, different barbershops have different styles on them. They are merely references. These kinds of absurd reporting on the DPRK is an intentional attempt to paint the country as some sort of strange, weird, backwards place while ignoring it's history and why it is the way it is today.
