I can’t get over the degree of access this kid gets. I see so many people saying that he’s risking his life and being more ballsy than other travel bloggers and while he’s definitely ballsy, he’s getting a level of access a American would NEVERRRRR come close to getting.
@WhitneyDahlin
@WhitneyDahlin Жыл бұрын
Yeah they don't consider just the American government the enemy they consider American civilians the enemy too. Most people in N.Korea except for the top 0.01% believe the American government has brainwashed us into loving America the way North Korean brainwashes their people into loving North Korea. They don't believe that America is as prosperous as it is. Working air conditioning and running water and consistent electricity and vehicles are incredible luxuries to North Korea. And even the poorest in America have that and enough food to eat and aren't eating grass and digging up roots in the forest to survive. They believe Americans are faking being happy and stuff like how the North Koreans have to fake being happy. So they see American civilians as potential spies and potential threats trying to convert their good North Korean people to capitalism. North Korea NEEDS America and the American people to be the enemy so that way they have an excuse to use fear to control their people. America and American civilians don't want to hurt N Koreans. We want to help them. The only person it would hurt is Kim himself. Literally every other person in the entire country would be so much healthier and happier and more free if South Korea took over tomorrow. We are not an enemy of the North Korean people we are an enemy of Kim himself. It's very sad. It is only through pure luck and chance I was born in America and not a North Korean work camp. So sad. So heartbreaking

I think his minders may have different security standards for visitors from the 'West" as opposed to the "Socialist Friends" from countries such as "Russia" because that's where most of NK's foreign aid comes from. You can see this subtle difference between his videos and those of "Americas Vice." Nonetheless, Lyadov is a fantastic documetarian. It would be really fantastic if he received more attention by the "West. He has certainly opened my eyes to a refreshing perspective of differing worldviews. NICELY DONE!

@@randallkimm7389 Russia is not socialist though. Regardless of whether you think the USSR with its centralized economy was rlly truly socialist, as of the early ‘90s it’s been an oligarchy, capitalist federation and different kind of hell hole than you’ve ever seen. Putin is extremely conservative and nationalistic and loathes socialism.. like the US for example is quite conservative compared to much of Europe and even things considered basic and trivial would be considered “socialist” in the US.. but Russia is WAY more extreme.. like there’s not even a “liberal” party or culture in much of modern Russia let alone one that has any patience for socialism . I understand what you’re saying and the two countries are on good terms compared to like.. the US with either or, but it’s certainly not bc Russia is a “socialist” friend, it’s strictly political. I find it very hard to believe the Supreme leader actually cares about socialism at all considering he seems happy having a one single city dedicated to him that reeps the fruits of capitalism and imperialism so he can have is own personal totalitarian Disneyland dedicated to him. It’s for political reasons, and optics and complex business ties. Source: my parents are from the USSR, I’ve traveled to Russia many times, have family there been to China as well and understand the eastern block politics prettt well especially compared to how Americans learn about it
