Getting my VStrom 800 DE dirty in Lockport , Kentucky. Six Mile Creek and Joes Branch Road is FUN!

Join me on my adventure on Joe's Branch RD and Six Mile Creek Road in Lockport, Kentucky, on August 18, 2024. It was a great ride, and I got a little muddy. I'm preparing to do the MABDR next fall (2025). It's roads like these that bring a smile to my face. Fun times!

SanFran was nice, but it was expensive. We enjoyed the Alcatraz tour the most. I have decided to spend an entire week or more touring Yosemite one day. That place is such a wonder to see. I hope to make to Yosemite again, but this time on my motorcycle.

Thank you for stopping by. I have switched tires to the Dunlop Trailmax Mission. Handles pretty good on the street and gravel/dirt and light mud. I haven't had it in deep mud yet. I'm 5'9 and have a little buffeting, but it's not enough to annoy me. I think if I had a long interstate ride my thoughts might change about the wind.

Thanks for the tire review. Question. Do you think the Trail Max Mission tires are as smooth as the original tires on the street? My wife has the 800DE and she loves the smoothness of it. I have a 2019 Africa Twin and I went to the Tractionator GPS tires. Horrible rhythmic vibration from 25 to 40 mph when in 3rd and 4rth gear. Go to 5th and most of the vibes go away. Do you notice anything similar?

Thanks for stopping by! I haven't noticed much difference on the street, except they made the steering feel heavier. I have ridden on different pavement and concrete roads, with and without rain grooves, and haven't noticed any vibes from the TMM's.

You can’t Adv ride sitting down that bike is meant to slide everywhere unless you’re standing up you you won’t learn

Just found your channel. I also have a new DE and have a couple issues that maybe you solved on yours. I get a bit too much vibration in my handlebars and footpegs at around 4000 rpms. I'm still breaking it in so don't go much over that. I see you have some different gloves than I use. Do they help w vibe? Do you have same issue w pegs that I do? Now back to watching your video...

Hello mate. From my experience I can say the vibrations are a common "issue". They move from 4000 up to 5500 6000 with time. They won't completely disappear but after a while they get better. Also she likes the chain a little bit loose.

Welcome to the channel, thank you for stopping by. The vibrations seem to get a little bit better after break-in, but they never quite go away. The gloves help with that because of the padding thankfully. I've been using Sedici Marco 2 mesh gloves, they're better at vibration absorption than the cheapo amazon gloves I was using. I hope you are enjoying your new DE! I absolutely love mine, even with the vibes and no cruise control.
