Another freebie from the DT are flowers! The loose flowers that have come off of their stems or garlands and are just singles, they will let you have them because they’re going to put them in the trash. Yes, you’ll have mismatched flowers, but you can paint or spray them to give uniform colors or keep as they are for colorful spring and summer projects. TFS this idea! (And a perfect time with wrapping paper being 50% or more off!)

Are we related? I do this all the time! I’ve been keeping it a secret because my mother thinks it’s ridiculous! I get nice thick boxes from Sam’s and BJ’s and decoupage them, wrap them, use contact paper to decorate. It’s relaxing and enjoyable to me! So THANK YOU! I feel validated like I don’t have to hide my love for stuff like this 😊

Gorgeous! Imagine buying a nicely decorated storage box, how much that would be? In the next few days most of the stores will be discounting wrapping paper. The boxes are for free... I'm just so gripped by the way of how beautifully I would store my craft supplies in my cabinets, shelves ... Oh yes, in my space a soft mint green would fit. I would have a hard time finding that at a dollar or thrift store. I'd go to a home improvement store and buy some discounted wallpaper, the thinner kind, if it is self-sticking, so much the better. Or use discounted contact paper. My fingers start itching to make these! In the last couple of days I've been searching for nice storage boxes online, but the good-looking ones are stiffly priced. Thank you so much Shery, for showing me the solution to my "problem".

I smiled big time when I saw you upcycling storage from retail displays! As a teacher for 34 years, I have been a die-hard container collector. There are cardboard pieces I covered with Contac paper DECADES ago that still served me on a daily basis until I retired. I gifted them to the Science store room to continue serving as organization for sets of equipment. My own craft storage includes commercial containers but also the upcycled store cardboard. Walmart shelves were full of empty cardboard displays yesterday as the last of the Christmas clearance aisles dwindled down. Also, a good time to find these containers is right after school starts when the extra shelves of school supplies are emptying out. Look for the carts where employees are consolidating displays and filling the carts with all of the old display cardboard.

Sherry, unfortunately, there are always people who love nothing more than be constantly negative, no matter what. That's their choice. I love all your ideas, and if, for whatever reason, a project ain't one I'd normally do, I love how you 'plant' an idea that I can look at something a different way, and maybe by tweaking your idea with my own thoughts, I can make it my own and make it fit my needs. I have just recently been 'bitten' by the Craft Bug again and now I'm 63 and loving finding new ways to craft, so THANK YOU for all your ideas, they are very much appreciated. Hugs from Scotland, UK 💙💙❤❤💙💙

Cool. That made me remember that I got some display trays from $ Tree a while ago. The lady was gathering up empty trays and had them all stacked on a cart. So I asked her if I could have some and she said to take all I wanted! At the time, I was looking for trays for holding my scrapbooking/collage papers. They worked out great. Still using them. So, yeah. Keep an eye out for employees rearranging things. All free. Loved the video. 😽🐈👵

What a FANTASTIC idea! You can cover these in different holiday & occasion wrapping papers and store items related to that Holiday or occasion in them, making it faster & easier to find just what you need for a project. It would be nice to also be able to make one box for male & one for female birthday items. Also makes it easy to keep your craft room organized because you can come home from a haul at the Dollar Tree and be able to quickly put the items away in a relevant box, where you know where to find them even 6 months later. Thank you for sharing this! I love re-purposed items!

A whole beautiful set could be custom made for my new craft room!!!!!!! What a great idea. And people like that are the same people who leave a review on a recipe about how it didn't come out right and it was awful and then they proceed to explain that they added more of this and took out something else, totally changing the recipe and then complaining that it didn't come out right. Sometimes it's best just to shut up, lol. I love this idea. It's free, it's customizable, and it can be used for so many things. And that catch all for your current project is perfect. Sherry, Your latest video about getting free boxes from Dollar Tree was 100% timely! I have a cardboard fabric cutting board that needed a table to set it up. I thought about all the copy paper boxes I have been collecting so rather than spend $50 or more for a folding table, I arranged the empty copy paper boxes (about 10 of them), standing some on end others on the side on top. Then I used paper clips to put them together. I used foam board to clip the boxes on top for a secure flat surface for the board and the sides to keep the boxes in place. I also have a few of the half copy paper boxes that can fit inside the larger ones. I taped and reinforced as needed and now I need more clips to finish and I want to look for small boxes like the one you covered in the video. I have lots of fabric to organize and I want to use those odd shaped boxes as drawers for the inside of the storage boxes. You are correct, I may not be interested in ALL your projects but I do get a lot of good ideas from every one I have watched. Thanks for so many great ideas. I love watching you create so many interesting crafts from boxes and paper. You are a woman after my own heart!

Great idea! Some people just make themselves feel better by being snarky to other people. Make them feel superior. It just makes them look mean and sad. You keep crafting girlfriend!

Well I’m with you…I love free! My first memory of loving to transform free into something was making a Barbie camper out of a box and some roller skates. Ppl say I’m ‘creative’ but honestly I tell them I’m resourceful. I got criticism on a craft room organization group bc I used some clear bins for ‘drawers’ and used scrabble tile holders for runners to slide them out in my Kallax. Someone said ‘why didn’t you just BUY the drawers’. Well that unit does have some drawers but I find them too shallow for some items. And I used what I had. I think your idea here is great, and these would work nice for scrap paper too! In the end, you do you! Help who you can to be more resourceful and let the naysayers spend a small fortune to stash their stuff!! 😂

Sherri, this is such a clever use of trash! Turning an item that is meant to be thrown away into a handy, sturdy craft (or other use) container is just great. It may not be something I need to do and use today, BUT your video will be there for us when we do need a container like this. GREAT JOB🥰🥰 this has also given me ideas for covering cereal boxes to store work in progress.

You always inspire me. I lost my parents in the 80's, a sister in 2020, my brother in 2022, my sweet husband in 2022, his sister in 2022, and his brother and brother in law in 2023. The hardest, of course, was losing my husband. My family made it easier for me for Christmas. You should never have to explain why you enjoy it...i think its wonderful what you do

I enjoy watching you work with paper and boxes. It’s fascinating how you can make something so beautiful and unique. And do it with making up one without a pattern. Paper craft is really not my thing but I really enjoy watching you.

I've never thought of asking for such displays! Genius! Thank you so much for sharing! My favorite part was when you said to the negative thinkers.......I'll probably do it again! 😆 🤣 😂 I so wish we lived close because i know we'd be great friends AND probably get in trouble with remarks! ❤❤❤ Absolutely agree people need to keep negative thoughts to themselves!!

Each individual has their own brand of creativity. Apparently some havent learned to be respectful and simply not do that particular project and wait for the next one. Ive never figured out if its impatience, arrogance or just flat out jealously that drives them. Dont let them hold you back or get your creative juices stopped up. Have faith and persevere. 😊

Sherry thank you for sharing. I understand missing your parents. Both of mine are deceased. The memories are the best. Family and friends and oh so much food. My father was a chef and he made amazing meals. However my mom’s food was oh, so good. Thank you for all that you do. You have made such an amazing impact on my life. ❤❤❤

Sherry I enjoyed this video very much. I have done the same thing with boxes. I call it recycling 😂. I lost my mom in 1992 at the young age of 56. Lost my dad and my husband in 2010. Please don't let the naysayers tear you down. Keep sharing your God given talent with us. May you and your family have a wonderful blessed happy New Year.❤😊😊
