Wouldn’t it have been more sturdy and practical to have puttin 3/4 ton axles on it? Like a Dana 70/80
@jeepindave5464
@jeepindave5464 4 жыл бұрын
Not really. A dana 70/80 are rear axles and typically dually application which is about a foot wider than the stock axle. So imagine 6 extra inches on each side. A narrowed ford dana 60 on the front would work, but way overkill for a show vehicle on 35s. The factory dana 44 is fine with upgraded shafts and a 9 inch is pretty bullet proof with the most aftermarket support of any axle made.

Few people can actually afford to spend that kind of money. I'm building a 83 Ford ranger. Full width Dana 44. Stock 30 over 302. C6 auto with a NP 205. Stock 4:10 with mini spool in back. That's more real and don't care if I bounce it off rocks and trees. I don't need any street queens. Paint don't matter, neither does chrome. I'd like to see that bounced off rocks and rubbed on trees but probably not.

First, if you need two or more batteries to drive heavy loads, NEVER EVER tie them permanently together. If there is a problem one battery can drain the other. You should look at the marine industry for a battery selector switch. Secondly having that stud sticking up in the bed for the spare tire when the bracket is removed is kind of silly........ BAD IDEA
