Nowhere near The Everglades, but still a great trail to explore. Next time you’re down, hit me up and I’ll see if I can set up a guided ride. I know a guy who knows the place like the back of his hand.

Ocala NF is one of the few nice places to ride on in Florida. Nothing as challenging as some the trails in mountain areas, but the mud and sugar sand can be a challenge in the some areas. Be careful using a drone in the area, there are numerous restrictions due to the bombing range and wilderness areas. Large sections of the forest are restricted.

Nice job on the voiceovers Ryan! My wife and I have been through Ocala a few different times, and it sounds like you guys had about the same experience we did (mostly flat, sandy, and way too many branches screwing up your paint job). Trust me, you have it way better up north!

My Dad lives in Tavares , Mount Dora area. I’ve been through the Ocala National forest ,nice area. Silver Springs is another must see

ONF isn’t challenging, however in the wet season it can go from dusty and flat to impassable. In the “lower” altitudes (lower being a relative term since y’all are from PA), when the ground gets saturated, it can actually flow like a river. Nothing near whitewater of course, but there’s a strong current. The higher area (north end of the Tread Lightly trail), the trails open up more. There’s a Navy bombing range out there as well. The range itself is fenced off of course, but when it’s hot you can’t get near it. ONF is home to the highest population of bears in FL. There’s also bobcats, deer, foxes, coyotes and a wide variety of snakes and other critters. Then of course there’s the bugs. We’ve got prehistoric bugs here. The big thing to remember is to stay on the right trail. There are trails intended for horses, off highway vehicles (side by sides, ATV’s…anything that can’t be registered) as well as hiking. If you get caught on the wrong trail, it’s a big fine. Going off trail is a HUGE fine. And don’t even THINK of parking in any of the bodies of water.

Great shots and drone footage! Loved watching you guys get out there and mess around with your rigs. Cool place to take your Jeeps. Look forward to more trails.

I was just camping in Ocala National Forest the first week of April. There are several rustic Federal camp areas for $10 a night, as well as dispersed camping. You have to store your stuff to be ready for bears at night. They will come in your campsite while you sleep.

If you’re a bit further south, try Jane’s Scenic Drive in the Fakahatchee. Depending on the time of year, make sure your axle vents are high and tight - hint hint.
