When I was little my mom bought a tiny “Christmas” tree in a pot and it’s meant to be kept inside and every year it just kept on growing and more than 10 years later we still have the same tree😊 I saw trees like that in Kroger for example:)

Dollar Tree has nice ornaments inexpensively priced. You do have to look them over carefully because some are poorly made. But some are quite nice. Love your excitement for Christmas.

This is so fun! Christmas is my favourite time of year. I have a home decorating blog and I tend to go all out for the holidays, haha. It was fun to see you getting your tree, and to witness a real-life “Elf” moment with it being to big! Haha. Also, I should update, I can get too serious about the Christmas decorating as well. I have two faux trees that I put on my main and upstairs levels, and we do that the first weekend of November so that I can get everything set up and photographed for my blog. Then around mid December, we get a real tree that we put in our basement/entertainment room, and that’s our “traditional” tree that we put all of our childhood ornaments on we have both gotten from our moms, haha. For me the intensity comes from the aspect of tradition/ritual. Because I love tradition so much, these are both weekend affairs that we always do, and if anything ever comes in the way of that I get upset 😆

Your tree looks wonderful, Caitlyn! Love the thrifted ornaments. Tip for opening jars: give the bottom end of the jar a couple of hard kicks with the palm of your hand & tap it on a wooden cutting board several times, firmly but not so much that you break the glass. You want the lid to tap the board, not the glass. This will loosen the seal and bingo!! Open jar!

Salmon, cream cheese and chive bagel? Now that's proper Scandinavian food! Well, minus the cream cheese and the bagel. In Sweden we use Vörtbröd, it's a dark bread (sometimes with raisins). It's sooooo good, man. Oh and yes, that star you put in the Window it's Swedish. As soon as dad starts to rummage around in the basement to get the star, you know Christmas is coming.
