Bob, thanks for sharing. Did you work at CocoPalms? You know so much about it. If they actually restore it to its historical grandeur that would be amazing. I understand the issues with the locals and why they don’t want the sacred land developed and how traffic will be an issue. But it has been an eyesore and if they can rebuilt it respectfully that would be an amazing feat. Keep us informed

Thanks for the update Bob and for sharing your memories and details of the resort with us. I hope something good comes from this demolition. It seems like every owner only takes away from this beautiful place.

What's the disposition of the Sea Shell restaurant, will it be rebuilt as well?

Thanks, Bob! Appreciate the update being able to see the place again. I might have missed it, but did you say that the chapel would be renovated or rebuilt? Also, is it safe to say that the general layout and type of landscaping will be kept? It kind of sounds that way which makes me happy.

Chapel will be renovated....there will be similar but some newer landscaping....any landscape that was close to the larger buildings had to be removed as you can see in the video's so they have access to the buildings to remove them.

How you going to deal with traffic? How are hotel guest going to enter grounds? Off Kuhio? Of Kua’mo’o? This will make an already traffic prone area into a full blown nightmare! Please fill us in on how this will all work

Also, did the issues that arose a few months ago with permits get resolved?

So much of those issues based on false info...so yes, getting resolved

I sure hope it happens this time. I kind of get it how the natives feel about the property, but it's an eyesore as it is, and doesn't represent any dignified/sacred space as it stands. I would hope that they could have input on the museum and perhaps lead historical tours of the spots with special significance to the Hawaiian people so that non-natives could learn from them.

What happened to it all? Just a skeleton, why not restore instead of demolish? I just went past there a few weeks ago and saw nothing happening yet!
