Getting ready for my FIRST SLOVENIAN Speed Puzzling Competition!! 😲

The FIRST (I think it's first, but I cannot be 100% sure) SLOVENIAN Competition is just around the corner! And I am so happy that this is actually happening, because I think it'll give me a good practice, for the Worlds next year! 🤩
I had to do some practice runs, as I haven't done any speed puzzling since the Worlds, and I didn't wanna go there completely unprepared. So in today's video, you'll see me stumble and not being able to decide which section to do next... Enjoy! 😂🙈

What do you think are the best techniques, to improve your time when speed puzzling??

I loved the puzzles you chose to practice with. My favorite is the first one. You have learned so much how to improve your puzzle building speeding. Those times are great. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about what this event means to you. Have fun and enjoy yourself, you probably will read these messages after the competition but I think all the advice you gave here is useful and since all the levels of difficulty were covered in this video, you are going to do better now and in the future.

You should use two timers one going up so you know the allowed time then if that timer goes off your other timer is still going …so one timing up the other timing down

aaaaah the time was counting down!! 🤣 I saw the 28 minutes picture on instagram and was like holy shit that's super fast! It's still a great time btw but I was like new world champ incoming! hahaha

I have been trying to improve my speed puzzling and was surprised to see the first puzzle was one I’ve been doing. I’ve done this one 6 times in the last month and have improved from 1 hr 40 to 1 hr 04m but just can’t seem to break the 1 hr barrier. I’m amazed how quick you are and think you will have done really well in the competition so looking forward to see how you did.

Wow, that's incredible! And this puzzle is not the easiest - try a different puzzle, like the postcards (London or New York), they are generally easier puzzles, so you should be able to break your 1h mark. I have only done 2 different puzzles under 1h so far 😉 And thank you! You're very fast as well, and are obviously improving!! 😁👌🏻

I shall be interested to see how you got on in the competition. Images can be somewhat deceptive. An area that you think would be easy turns out to be the opposite! Anything dark will always be harder than light areas. I would have left that cottage roof to do last as it was quite dark. Something else you will be more careful about is not having loads of pieces inside the frame! All good learning experience of what not to do, especially with a 500 piece puzzle. Look forward to your next video.

I totally agree with you! Sometimes I just have no idea how difficult the puzzle will end up being 😅 Yes, I know I messed up with pieces 😂🙈 Definitely won't be doing that again! 😅

Yes of course! This is a game shop that organises different events, and they said that once a month (every 2nd Sunday of the month) will be the puzzle competition. They usually post monthly calendar about a week before the start of the month: facebook.com/parkenigma/ You have to reserve your spot in advance though, as they only have space for 20 people 😊
