USE A PUSH STICK WHEN USING THE TABLE SAW!!! My husband recently cut the tip of his thumb off when the saw hit a hidden knot and it jerked the stick and he’s used a table saw for many many years (but didn’t use his push stick that day). The hospital said it is common to see finger amputations because of table saws. Not kidding here. Safety first!

Once the cottage is completely finished you should gather all the footage of you doing projects from day one, put them on a memory stick or something and bury it somewhere in the garden or behind a wall. That way in another 100 years time when someone else owns the home, if they decide to renovate they’ll find it and can watch it all. If I found something like that in a home I purchased I wouldn’t sleep again and just binge watch the whole thing.

My 95 year old mother loves to watch along, she has dementia but her face lights up when she sees you, and she loves, loves, LOVES to see Kinsley. She waves at you both and tells you that she loves you. You make her life so much happier. I missed out on getting a sweatshirt for her, so hoping that you all might do that again. I love this! I lost my mom three years ago to dementia and it’s such a cruel disease. I’m so glad your mom still has enjoyable things in her life. She is obviously very blessed to have you as her daughter. My mom only lived to be 83 (which is still a long time), but what I wouldn’t give to have had another 12 years with her❤ I am sure you already do, but love on her hard, whether she remembers who you are or not. Veronica, I am so blessed to have a very intelligent husband. He's profession is a marketer, but his hobbies include being mechanically inclined, a cabinet builder, plumber, electrician. He built me a backyard ramada to installing gutters as well. Right now he's building me a cabinet built-in in our dining room. I love him dearly.

Tip: strip the stems from all unnecessary leaves! If it gets too crowded in the vase, the stems and leaves will mold when in water! Like strip the first 4 leaves and keep the rest on the stem and your flowers will stay fresh longer! And before you put them in the water cut them in 45 angle with a sharp knife, NO PAIR OF SCISSORS cause they squeeze the stem and the fluid of the flower will mold the water! Only sharp knife ✌🏻

I have a large (will fit a 9x13 casserole dish) convection toaster oven and we keep in on our enclosed back porch. It's wonderful to be able to bake things outside during Texas summers without having to heat up the whole house.

See with all the organization, and numbered charts, and such...I feel like you could totally DIY the LA kitchen without having to live thru a disaster construction zone. Chart it out, build new cabinets, and then only demo/remove the old ones in sections as new cabinets are ready. Sink area, stove area, etc. Sure the kitchen would be mismatched with two styles of cabinets for a bit, but it sounds doable (and livable) after seeing TX kitchen sprout up from the studs.
