As an American, I won't lie, I hate how everything has sugar as either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th ingredient. So I can only imagine the struggle you and your husband face at the grocery store. I agree about the sugar content in food. I’m trying to cut out refined sugar, but it’s really ended up “cutting back” because it’s so hard, (and can be expensive) to get away from sugar in the US.

I completely understand the sugar issue. My boyfriend is diabetic and finding foods that don't have hidden sugar can be tricky. The reasoning for so much sugar in America foods is that we as a country were told that fat was the enemy in weight loss. So, to replace the flavor fat adds sugar is the fat-free alternative. In many ways, it's as bad or worse. The American diet is not balanced and healthy. You really have to go far out of your way to eat healthy here

@@catrice1296same. I am also the heaviest one in my family but the only one who does not have high bp. I try so hard to stay away from processed sugar to help with inflammation. I can feel when I’ve cheated. I’m very proud of myself for drinking mostly water or seltzer. I only have sweetener in my one cup of decaf in the morning.

Angie! I’m a Floridian and I just did a 4 day Disney trip this past weekend! Just a tip, go to Orlando after September if possible. Florida is experiencing a tremendous heat wave and the conditions are deadly. We were miserable in the late morning-late evening. If you do go, please be prepared with tons of sunscreen and water. It is very uncomfortable and it makes the experience pretty not worth it, in my opinion. We don’t know how long this heatwave will last, but it might be slightly better by September/ October. But right now we’re talking about 100-120 type temperatures with humidity and no wind. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I saw two people on the floor in the parks being tended to by paramedics due to heat exhaustion/ stroke.

Your eye look is gorgeous!!! Also, amen on the sugar thing! Honestly, the fact that we have sugar in absolutely everything is something that occurred over the last 40 years or so. It hasn't always been this way. Ever since we went hard on HFCs instead of regular sugar in the 80s, everything has gotten sweeter and people got used to that and now EVERYTHING has sugar, or worse, artificial sweetener, in it.

Added sugars is a definite issue here. Pasta sauces without extra sugar are HARD to find in the United States too. I always end up getting a sauce imported from Italy.

I haven’t freelanced as a makeup artist, but I’ve done some makeups on my friends and their friends, and, yeah, people are mostly wanting these Kardashian-like looks. There were handful of times when people arrive to my place, cuz we’ve agreed to do some stuff as everyone around claims that my colourful makeups are well done and pretty, and then it all dies at the… browns. 😆 And I’m like - you were captured by the colours, why not to try? So, not doing neutrals in this household. 😂 I’ve been sometimes pulling people out of their comfort zones by doing these kind if looks, cuz then they are surprised, cuz it’s smth different, they see themselves from a different perspective, and their friends sees them different, if they post the pics somewhere. I also strive to the creative side of the things, so, totally get it. I have noticed that what’s for me quite a usual daily look to do is quite a stepping out of the comfort zones for others. 😃 But I like to push the boundaries a bit for a wonderful outcome.

Speaking of local restaurants, Angie, I don’t think you’ve tried Trattoria Lisina yet, which is located in Driftwood! An amazing italian restaurant and they even make their own wine! They have a sister restaurant at the Triangle in Austin called Mandola’s. It is soooooo gooooood! Mandola’s is a more casual version of some of the same foods and wines! They ship their pizza ovens in from Italy! Their gelato is amazing! You need to try them! Trust me!

My husband and I try to eat lower carb/sugar options when we can and it is definitely a struggle. If you can find it near you (or online), Primal Kitchen, Sir Kensington, and Bolthouse Farms are good dressing options. It's also pretty easy to put together a simple vinaigrette. Lower sugar options are more popular now, but we were making a lot of our own stuff from scratch because we just couldn't find it. I just got back from Disney World and New Orleans. SO MUCH WALKING. 100K steps in 4 days. I liked Epcot and actually wondered what you would think of the Scandinavian area. So strange but also fun. I feel like I've burned out. I do love what i have. I can look at a palette of shadow and still have giddy excitement, but it's been a very lonely road. Not having anyone to discuss, share excitement, appreciate looks with, etc. Sure, there are online communities, but that's still strangers and key strokes, superficial, hollow. You could try to make a vinaigrette! You can save it for two weeks, takes less than 5 min. Just olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper and I like to add tabasco.

Angie - I 100% agree about sugar! I live in South Carolina and one glass of tea will give you diabetes. My Husband and I now just use a non dairy sweetener in our coffee. We don’t add salt or sugar to our food. Sweden sounds amazing!

With the sugar thing, I find that strange as well in other countries. I live in the UK and it's easy to find stuff without sugar, as most things don't. Even the Starbucks matcha latte here is unsweetened. But the same drink in countries like US (and Japan for that matter) have like 30g sugar, while ours is only 5g, literally just matcha powder and milk, they leave it up to you to add sugar if you want or request a syrup.

Some of my favorite foundations can be a little thick or dry. (Aging skin/:) Add a few drops of serum, facial oil or a liquid illuminator to it. 💯 works.

I always wanted to skydive but after jumping off a rock and almost landing on the ground instead of the river, and then jumping off a 60ft bridge and landing in water wrong and going through the transitions of “passing on” I figured it prob wasn’t a good idea. My friend Yanni said he went bungee jumping and got a really bad nose bleed. I don’t know if he’s prone to that sort of thing, but just be really careful ❤️❤️❤️

Also I just read this, wondering what other things can happen, altho I’m sure you know the risks, I personally just didn’t know that anything bad could happen until my friend told me about his experience “Are there any side effects of bungee jumping?
