A long time ago I saw Karmakut lose 2 operators to a tiny but common mistake, and then going on a super entertaining rant. Since that I've been super aware of "unintended leftover look commands"... but I also keep seeing people making that same tiny mistake, so I decided to have a fun time making a video about it.

I remember watching this video by Karmakut and thinking man, I would never make that mistake, and then proceeded to do almost exactly the same thing. Great vid, always love to see Door Kickers 2 getting some CQB love :)

You should always orient your operators around a threshold. Doesnt matter if it's doorframe, center of a room or the opposite end of a corridor. Directional look is just a lazy way of planning.
@CapitanoAraym3 ай бұрын
CTRL+point (control a direction) or SHIFT+point (control always a single esplicit point), if I want to be sure that my operators will look in a direction during movements. I found myself using the simpler "pointer" only if I (micro)manage some wider angle of view during "inspection" (I play with black FOW, so I see "nothing" in the map if not explored), but almost never prepping the actual shooting)

he bumps the gun on the doorway when you give the look command 2:38 , the outcome might be different if the doorway wasnt there
@Rake5k10 ай бұрын
Well observed! You're right, he might get hit fewer times without the bump. I'm planning a video on gun bumping, too.

That's why hesitation kills. you don't want to think to much finger on the trigger ready. Pid is important tho and other factors but for the most part hesitation kills

What about the laying down and downing knee while shooting as well? I played this game and im dissapointing because of those features are missing Theres downing knee but i can't fire back against the enemies but the enemy can fire while down on thier knees!
@Rake5k6 ай бұрын
@@MarkRetsel it's explained in the tutorial... you can't lay down or take a knee. You can go low which you can utilize to avoid being seen and being hit by bullets and explosions while behind low cover and windows. You can still see and throw grenades, but you can't fire. You can't blind fire. and in the base game only lmgs can use covering fire. Project ARES mod has custom units that can all use covering fire.

Any idea how to deal with this in a single-plan run? If you want guys to take up a specific position on the doors and then move on a command?
@Rake5k8 ай бұрын
I'd use a lot of pie / look commands along the path. However, I very rarely do single plans though, so someone else might have better advice. I'm sure there's also videos about the mastering the art of the digital spaghetti (saw one titled like that).

More episode. DOOR KICKERS 2 is amazing game. If you like video games with planning phase, you need try No plan B
@Rake5k10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the recommendation! I know the game. I'm more into blind runs and adapting to the challenges as they unfold rather than building a perfect plan.
