I was educated about my period in school on a "special"girls only day in 6th grade. For half a day the boy's from both 6th grade classes all joined in one classroom & us girls in another.The ladies from the Health Department started a movie & a demonstration afterward with Q & A's later.I felt a step closer to being a teenager which was something I could hardly wait to be. Chris,your advice is excellent,the main thing I did do afterward was to make sure I was,"Prepared at all times!"

It's very good when you can be vocal about starting your period with your daughters. It's good when you can take the shame/embarrassment out of it so they don't feel bad when they get theirs. Every girl goes through it, there's nothing to you to hide about!! One girl actually snitched on another girl in school bc she asked her if she had a pad. Even our TEACHER got angry with the girl for asking for a pad! How ridiculous!!
