I totally agree with the advice here, I always worked very hard in my 20's and 30's and was very careful with money. When I bought my house it was a total wreck but I got it cheap and spent the time doing it up myself in my spare time and paying off the mortgage as fast as I possibly could. Now I have a nice house, mortgage free, and because I worked so hard in my 20s and 30s taking every opportunity that presented itself I am comfortably well off and only need to work part time having lots of time for doing things that interest me.

excellent advice ethan, the one caution i would give is this example my wife and i decided to buckle down and work hard so we could retire early and enjoy life , we did it but illness hit us hard later in life and we now feel like we missed alot of quality time together earlier in life so be sure to have a a balance you never know what will happen healthwise

i came across your channel today from watching your Ferrari video and started binge watching many of your other videos. everything you said in this video is bang-on factual. you are a good motivational speaker. unless your a trust fund child you have to work hard and make sacrifices for what you want in life and as you said every person's situation is totally different.

"There are people in my age group that have acheived way more that I have." True! The meaning of this statement is don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to you and be a better version of the you you were yesterday. You want fancy cars and financial freedom, ask the questions of how and go out and find the answers and be prepared to work your ass off.

Sir, if I had this talk by my Parents... I would do better in life right now. I am not "struggling" and I have a very good salary considering I am a family of 5 and the only bread winner in the household and I live in New York City.... But with your advise and words I can now see that I can surpass my current financial situation to improve and have less stress in my daily and monthly budgeting. - Thank you for your time and efforts in this and many of your videos.. !

Thanks for this no bullshit approach to life in general. My wife and I really like your car videos but it's also useful to realize that life is more than just cars or money, it's actually just about understanding ourselves and what we need to do to reach our maximum potential.

You're not saying anything new, we all know... But you know what, we FORGET. That's the trap. We get into the wave, the routine, make the worst use of time - and money - ever in history, and we forget what's relevant to achieve our goals. You're successful because you keep in the top of your mind the important stuff. You THINK about what you want, define a way to get it and roll up your sleeves and work your way there, that simple. And as simple as I put it, it's difficult, it's very difficult to stay present, to stay conscious and to DECIDE about things we do automatically; we tend to only take into account the big decisions. And we tend to stay in our comfort zone, just hoping to get gifts from life, and recognition for things that are not exceptional. Thank you for making the time of sharing your thoughts. You made me remember. We forget all the time that life is a network of roads, and if we don't take a look at the compass from time to time, we will most likely miss the north.

I've done reasonably well for myself, I'd say every time you make a substantial gain, don't buy gadgets or fritter it away on having a good time at first. Put it into assets which appreciate in value and make you passive income. Do this for a while and the extra income will pay for all the trivial consumer tat which you would like to own, plus those assets keep appreciating in value. The self indulgent desire for instant gratification is the downfall of many. Brilliant video sir!

I can't believe your story because its identical to mine , when I was 32 , I was broke , my wife had left me and I was left with a lot of debt , after 8 months of depression I got my act together. I worked and worked worked , no holidays just worked 7 days a week , drove an old truck. Then through my constant hard work by the time I was 42 I had become a millionaire , I had two cars , a 993 and a SL500 . I came like you from a poor family and a tough childhood , when I reached 45 I moved abroad and became a multimillionaire through my constant hard work , I am now 64 years old , I agree with everything you say and love your videos

Thank you for sharing your experience and learnings. After my father passed away I was keen to maximise my time with my family and that’s going really well (I have every other Friday to spend time with my wife). Now I’m in a place trying to maximise my happiness of work whilst improving my income. Everything you mentioned I‘ m currently doing. I have an objective and budget where I spend my money. However…… even with a target and allocation of where I chose to spend my money I still get sucked into (not massively) spending money where I don’t necessarily need (e.g. mobile phone or music subscription)…. Thank you for brining me back to my centre and not get sucked into ‘the trends’. I’m new to your Chanel and in a way see this as a mentoring session. So please continue with your humble videos! :)

I love your video and what you say. For many years I was addicted to shopping, mainly clothes and, no matter how much I earned, I always ended up with nothing at the end of the month. This year my mindset changed. A lot. And I am doing exactly what you mention. It will work for me too. I know it, because the first and most important step is the mindset. If I am allowed to say something about your excellent video, I would erase your comments written in white at some point on the video, because it shows a bit of insecurity and that you are too worried about what your audience is thinking. It doesn’t matter. You are giving excellent advice. Be proud :-) P.S.: By the way, I am also a big car enthusiast and I have an objective, so basically, I’m doing the same as you: save each “penny” and buy with the big “pounds” what I really wish to have that makes me happy 😊

There’s a difference. Kiyosaki is a conman and that’s how he made it big. This guy just wants to share without selling you an ideal life that’s only going to financially benefit him through the “educational” product you buy. It’s how you define your life not how others define it to reap a benefit they promote as altruism when it’s avarice and arrogance.

You are completely right. I just wanted to work self employed. Because of too much work i employed my first employee. 15 years later i still drive normal cars and that’s the reason i can’t burn my money. Instead i built Appartements for rent. So i got a passive income in addition. But money doesn’t make me happy. It’s people that make me happy.

I think that upbringing has a huge part in how successful you are. My child hood was all about just making it through the day (without the sob story) Education was never even a thought to me or my parents. I found my wife when i was 20, I am now 34 years old We had a family young and i learned what love really is. I work a shit job in a Pizza factory (kills me inside every day) and she is in her last 2 years of university studying veterinary science and then she will go on to study pathology. Thank god one of us has a brain :).

I have done extremely well as a stock option trader. The last several years the market has been extremely volatile, which is great for trading. I have not bought very many toys or material things. Why? My biggest hobby is being a musician. i have acquired several USA Jackson guitars and several Gibson Les Paul's over the years. My joy and relaxation is playing music and recording my ideas. I have a fat bank account, retirement accounts and I play music when I'm not working. I am lucky to be in the position I am in.

I once changed my job but it was far far worse than I could imagine, and luckily my old boss took me back. This gave me more doubt and hesitation to change from job. Am I afraid to leave the comfort zone. Yes. Buy also because I made a lot of succes with that job. Cars , motorcycles, watches, and a house

I totally agree 100% with what your saying. I remember coming up with my own motto a number of years ago and i still follow it till this day and it's like this "if u don't like it then leave it" I applied that to everything I've done throughout my life. Couple years ago I didn't like the school i was at, I studied IT support, after 5 months I realised it wasn't for me, so i left and changed school to get into a technical school to study web integration (programming) i later on wanted to get an internship not only did i get 1 but in fact did 2 internships by the time i graduated, I then didn't wanna do more unpaid work i told myself i would do at least 2 - 3 unpaid jobs then go onto a paid job and I did, I left the company where I did unpaid work and changed company to do paid work and did more hours at the company so i could get paid more per month, i later on applied to a business academy which is where i'm currently studying computer science and will be done with school a bit over a year in January 2024. So u see i left the things I didn't like and moved onto better things. The only thing thats holding us back is ourselves.

I found the right channel, here. A different perspective is what you offer. Here's what I do, while I am climbing myself up working lousy jobs. I go to the bargain area of my supermarket, where meats, etc are marked down 50%. I like to eat well, so I taught myself how to cook well. With a small pork chop, I made pork normandie, for example. Cost under 4 bucks for the meal. I won't bore you with an incessant list, but you understand. I live way, way under my means. I save and invest the difference. OK, my first goal is to reach my FIRE number, I know to the dollar what that number is. It is a reachable goal.

Someone at work told me you’ll never earn enough. I never understood it. But in time it’s made sense as you watch others increase their lifestyles in tandem with their earnings making it a zero sum game. It’s designed, by corporate hierarchies, to make others want to join in. But the price is losing one’s freedom. As you rise you’re expected to emulate your peers and only socialise within that group. You’re lost to the company. The best illustration of this was George Osborne’s promotion of self employment. The Chancellors thinking was that those capable of unlimited earnings would work harder creating greater tax revenues. The opposite happened. With no one to impress in a workplace they worked less and has greater time to themselves. It’s not all about money. But it sure helps!

While what you say makes sense for some people, it just can't apply to everyone living in different places of the world today. You being born in the UK was immeasurable luck, even if you claim you were "unlucky" in some aspects. Also you didn't mention how education plays a big part (and don't forget that education is also the way of thinking you receiver when being brought up by your parents). Still, kudos to you for taking the time to make this video and present your point of view.

@@xynostasos9022 All those boys can change their life if they want. I have been doing it all by myself all my life. So I don't agree with luck! The harder I work the luckier I get.

@@xynostasos9022 I understand your feeling. If a person focuses on their setbacks, what will happen? And if a person focuses on solutions, what will happen? I have a feeling you will realise life satisfaction.

It’s the second video of yours I watched and you do a great job of laying it out nicely without mincing words… if I ever did videos like these I will pretty much say exactly the same … nice to know there are like minded people out there trying to make a difference in their own way… won’t be subscribing as too busy to get distracted with notifications and wasting time on more videos :-) but would love to meet you sometime in future .. hope our paths cross and we can grab a beer (0% alcohol) or coffee

You will need to invent or create something different or no one has done; that will make your success fast and enjoyable. I have made it my goal and it did happen: now if I want 10K I will make it by tomorrow evening. Cheers

I'm Bulgarian and makes me feel good you were satisfied with my compatriots, though most of repair service men in Bulgaria act like the guy who doesn't get out of bed for less than x amount of money

Look after the penny is the very old advice; probably 70 years ago said by my mother. Now you need to explore/create/invent to make it fast and big

Yes must be a slope to let water drain away, outside. My dad was a policeman, ww2 royal navy gunner, marchant seaman, and house builder he taught me all sorts of stuff about houses. My friend calls me his housing consultant when he has a house issue....haha.
