I’m the same way and I use to have a friend who would take such huge bites that he couldn’t close his mouth while chewing. He would chew so loudly and food falling out of his mouth. He used to even eat while we were on the phone until after years I finally said something. He got so upset even though I tried explaining my condition to him. He didn’t want to hear it and afterwards for a very long time every time we talked on the phone he would say what’s that noise, are you eating. I started off by asking if he was busy and wanted to call me back because I didn’t want to sound like I was criticizing him by saying something about him eating while we talked. He would also ask me to hold on while he went to the bathroom. Eventually I just started hanging up on him and he thought it was my phone because I had cricket and frequently the call got dropped.

Sorry you feel so bad. Hope you caught it early enough your holiday isn't tanked. Might consider trying cozy curlers. They have a sale, use on slightly damp hair. They can handle very long hair. I saw TSO in OK 2017 Dec. Fabulous!!!! Did you like??? Also, do you have "causes/reasons" why you cannot stay hydrated and need IV hydration with your particular physiology? You are a nurse, I know (long time subscriber) and I was a biochem major 40+ yrs ago) so I am very interested in the specifics. Is it just a matter of ileostomy vs colostomy bcuz zero absorption without large intestine?

Misophonia!!! ARGH….. The Number 1 thing that gets to me is B Darn Mouth Breathing. Hate it with a darn passion. I’m constantly asking/ telling my husband to breathe quietly through his nose. Get some noise cancelling earbuds or there is a company advertising on the radio called Raycon that have adjustable blocking levels. Not eating today only liquids so when I change the bag I won't have output to deal with.TSO ROCK saw then once a few years ago it was very good

I've got misophonia (sp?) as well... can't stand people eating/chewing, people talking while eating, crackling plastic.... re your sinus issues.... maybe go back to your ENT to talk about this, because if I remember correctly, the idea was that after your sinus surgery you would be done with the problem, but so far it has done pretty much nothing....

OH golly it has a name! I have misophonia. Now I'm in my 80s I just have to do a LOT of self-talk if I'm in that situation!! And I also have prosopagnosia, but that's just a thing I'm so used to, I also didn't know for years it was a thing! Only goes to show!

I'm so sorry you have to go somewhere for fluids. When I has to do it for a few years I got an infusaport due to no veins but it was sooooo convenient! So easy to maintain port and always had fluids on hand and nausea meds if needed. I hated to have it removed but I was able to get along better by then. It was at its worst with my second pregnancy. Plus I had a c section so couldn't have bowel resection through pregnancy and 12 week recovery after c sec. Then baby got rsv so had to put it off another 3 weeks so infusaport was a godsend! So glad you still have worthy veins!!! LoL!❤

I have chronic sinusitis and antibiotic/steroid saline rinses and regular debridements are what keep it in check for me

Hi Maggie! I’ve been watching you for five years now. I have IBD. My case is not severe at this point and is being managed with medication. However, my 17 yr old has started with several G.I. symptoms over the last six months and at 115 pounds she had a 10 pound weight loss since March. She is currently in the process of getting all the test done to rule out inflammation, parasite, bacteria, etc… we see a pediatric G.I. specialist in South Jersey. I understand if you don’t want to answer this, but were you ever suggested to see a psychiatrist or psychologist? My daughter is a senior in high school and all AP classes. Also, she does musical theater and dances every day at school on the dance team as well as nhs, bio med club. They feel as though she would benefit from working on her stress level, anxiety etc. I’m curious if you or other people reading this were treated for anxiety, which exacerbates her symptoms. Or her G.I. issues are causing her the anxiety. I wish I could take it all away from her. Xoxo HNY! Feel better.

I actually had this done already! An ent shaved off bone and tissue to the entrances of my maxillary sinuses which improved things a ton - I can empty my sinuses now, they just fill up too quickly!

Agh.. I ended up with a sinus/respiratory infection for a month!! and ended up on anitbiotics, which also causes havoc in the GI tract! I feel for you!! Hate being sick at the Holiday time....

The earplugs noice canceler thing's sounds great, but he might hear himself chewing. Happy holidays and hope you feel better. I used to be sick every year on the holidays with ear infections as a child. I didn't want to get up and open presents. Happy that most gifts were not packaged up. And then my Mother wanted pictures so we had to put on our holiday dresses, my brother's their suits) we all didn't like that part except my sister. I was sick and just wanted to go to bed for the day, lol. I was on antibiotics throughout and onto (into) the New Year. Not fun memories of the holidays as a child.

I timed my vaccinations, etc. so that I could see family. So far, so good. I saw all my kids. I got so excited hugging in the doorway before they even got in the door that my foot which was holding the door open moved and I locked myself out! That will teach me not to welcome kids from far away until they get in the door. Fortunately, my landlord got the maintenance guy to let us in. I got teased all day about where my keys were. Last month I made Thanksgiving dinner for 10. Then we saw Nutcracker after Thanksgiving. Now more kids for lunch and I'm still good! Hopefully this continues through the New Year celebrations. Today, Christmas Eve, I'm having company for soup and desert. I made the soup out of the Thanksgiving turkey carcass that I froze. I have to buy flour for pie crust and apples for filling now and start baking for tonight. Next week is going to be quieter. Finally, where I live there are New Year's Eve fireworks right at the end of my street so if it's not too cold, and if I haven't gotten into pajamas first, I will walk down to watch the show with neighbors. I hope my immune system holds out. I hope yours recovers fast, obviously fluids helped.
