I like the style of this video in that you are not lecturing as a teacher but more casually explaining your own experiences and learnings throughout the process in your own words. Almost seems as if you are learning how to put the concepts to words for the first time, which makes it relatable to beginners. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It's pretty inspiring and not only am I getting motivated to trade but to also create a video series as well.

It is great that all along the path...you have changed your mind on some things, changed your approach, adjusted your psychology, and we get to watch and follow you on the path. Really and truly you are a great example of a Scout ! Yes, the landscape already exists, but you are at the front of the expedition..leading the way. Temporary pitfalls and all! thanks trail blazer !

Since I became addicted to trading about a week ago, I've watched hundreds of videos, read 3 books and countless group threads. I've also set up my accounts and have been testing what I learn with small share buys. This video is exactly what I needed from start to finish! Thank you so much. I knew enough to keep up but learned so much stuff that I will be rewatching a few times I'm sure. I love your approach on technical and psychology, as an alcoholic in recovery I understood exactly what your talking about and love learning about. . Again thank you so much.

Rewatching this: I like how you do not use oscillators but find it impt to understand them. I agree and am reading on Investopedia right now. Ive just finished a swing trading course based on straight price action (not alot of indicator/oscillator use) and your top down, pragmatic approach mirrors the guys at Mastertrader. If not perfectly in pace at least not at odds--so you are someone whose videos I can enjoy and add to the paradigm Im working! Thank you! Your videos are Super clear--and Fun actually! Easy to understand, creating satisfaction and learning-- enjoyable for humans.

You can "bypass" the limitation of not being able to find low float tickers by creating your own watchlist of low-float tickers and scanning against that. I scrape a few sites and pull the list together every few weeks, and pull out certain things I don't like, such as "5-cent tick" stocks, or in some cases, I remove OTCs, depending on what I'm trying to scan for.

There is a ridiculous amount of great information in this video. Thank you so much. My last day at my 8 year corporate job is MONDAY. I have been studying and practicing steadily for 2 years and now I'm taking a leap to try and trade full time. Terrified but that is probably a good thing. I like the scanner set ups and how/when you use them. I like the longer trade plan based on stocks that hit the scanners and perform in a certain way. I like the blunt (don't trade this when your new) More then happy to avoid these until I understand them better. I like the tips for what to look for (20 and 50 squeeze through the 200) - Could be a big opportunity I like hearing about the chat rooms but I would much rather learn then pay for calls. I like the detail (paper trading can not filter on studies, TOS does not have float, Trade Ideas is better for day traders then what TOS offers) I don't like hearing that you need to go to your job because I am about to make this my job and what I'm leaving behind was very "profitable." This video was also longer then it needed to be but thats ok. Time stamps links would be nice.
@CT-we2xx5 жыл бұрын
Noxtreme what’s your update?
@Noxtreme5 жыл бұрын
@@CT-we2xx HEY. Thanks for asking. I'll give the short version but if you have more questions feel free to ask. Money wise I went up the first month and then lost all that profit plus a little more on one trade earlier this week. Up 520 then lost 680 or something like that. I got over confident and went in too heavy on a stock position. Also market bought and sold a low float stock which is not a good idea so slippage/lag added quite a bit to that loss. I have been doing side hustle work 1 day a week to pad my expenses. Manual labor is great for clearing your head and exercise. Month 1 I was very close to breaking even for expenses vs income if you included the side work and trading gains but I am not pulling out my trading gains because growing the accounts without dropping new money in is the goal. I had several bits of lagging income from my job so bank accounts were net positive. The loss a few days back shook me emotionally which is absolutely going to be a part of trading for a living. I exited when I should and avoided a much larger loss so I am happy about that. Not doing that reks so many traders and I am proud to say that I pretty much have this part of trading etched into me. "Live to trade another day." I currently have a 46% accuracy rate and $143 profit average over 37 stock trades but the profit is a bit skued because of one big nflx swing trade I made in 17. I have been much higher accuracy in Crypto but I have not found a platform for getting metrics on this. I just know I'm making more with a much smaller account and much higher accuracy there. I am also trading this more frequently. Education wise I have been heavily focused on improving my stock trading. I have my think or swim set up very nice for me and I have a hodge podge of different strategies in my brain that all have a TA foundation. I'm using bits and pieces of all of them. My TA is on point and always improving. I mean it when I say my TA is on point. I feel even better about that now then I did while I was still working. I have thousands of hours into learning this over the years and I can look at a chart and have a near immediate sense of where its going and what my risk would be if I'm wrong. Biggest struggle right now is to boost my accuracy of TA on very shorter term trades. My accuracy on swings is much better then my accuracy on really short term trades (morning scalps) but I want to decrease my risk exposure while increasing my profits. This is my key focus at this time because I think this is where the magic happens. There is a lot of opportunity cost in taking swing trades and if you are wrong then you have lost rev on top of missed opportunity. I have been thinking I might want to take some swings though just to put more money to work since a good chunk of my stock account is usually just sitting in cash. Emotions are a big deal in trading but an even bigger deal when trading is you main focus. I was not able to shake off losing last months gains overnight earlier this week but I am finding the 1 day a week of side work very helpful to reset myself. This is getting a bit long but I have to add that I have enjoyed everyday since I officially made this leap. I am happier and it shows. My enjoyment/happiness is rubbing off on most of the people around me as well. I have more energy and very little fear/dred at this point in my journey. I still feel confident that I have made the right choice.

This is a superb and very useful video. Thanks for posting a screen shot of the configurations of your scanners to find different types of stock candidates to trade. In one of your most recent videos, you said that you lost all of your capital. It sounds like you were significantly underfunded, and that commissions and small losses slowly eroded the capital. Don't be afraid to put $5k or preferably $10k into your brokerage and chase small percentage gains, but avoid penny stocks at all costs. Those incur unnecessary risks. I suspect that as an engineer, you're going to do very well. Don't worry about losses. Focus on limiting them through aggressive risk management, and on making gains that are greater than any of the losses.
