What are some of the more common uses for utilizing Alteryx? The company I work for is considering investing in this technology and we have to see how it can be used to help simplify workflows .. any insight would be great

I recommend to NOT do that, Alteryx is still in a mess. It can't excecute simplest tasks without crushing Excel files. So if you want to invest - please do a solid testing before.

RPA is to Alteryx what a shovel is to an excavator. Both are extremely valuable tools that are useful for their unique type and size of problem. They can solve problems individually and they can work together to create more complex solutions that couldn’t be done on their own. At their core, RPA bots work on the front end of a system at the UI level and mimic a human’s interaction with a computer. It’s able to automate repetitive, rules-based processes such as filling in forms, extracting data from documents, and processing invoices. Alteryx sits on the back end as the engine that handles the cleansing, manipulation, and processing of data without volume limitation. Not only does it complete the process automation, but it’s able to apply statistical methods and perform analysis on large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and variances. In short, RPA works to eliminate repetitive tasks and can support end to end automated solutions developed in Alteryx.”
