Homesteading is a sustainable and healthy way of life, but we can’t all just quit our jobs and move into the countryside. That’s why TexasRealFood for our second Social Circle will be teaching you small ways that you can bring a homesteading life into your home, wherever you live!
We are starting off this Homesteading in Your Home series with Beekeeping! In this event, you will learn how to get started raising bees, how to produce honey, and everything in between.
Whether you want to start it as a hobby or get a full production going, this workshop will teach you all the tools you need from smokers to whether you need a beekeeper's outfit to where you can actually get your bees!
We will also teach you the basics of bees so that you know how to take care of your new pets and touch on how you can produce great honey while supporting pollinators of all kinds.
We are excited to start off this sub-series by talking about an easy way that everyone can be more in charge of their food production. And also just to talk about bees, an animal that is such an important part of our food production!
Who Should Attend?
Anyone interested in learning more about starting your own vegetable garden, local food production, and permaculture in Texas.
