Thanks so much for this video. You have demystified a lot when it comes to cloth nappies and the combinations. I’m due my second in Jan and just started looking into these (a bit last minute) after hubby suggested reusable. I’m definitely leaning towards Baba & Boo and Bambino Mio given your points raised. Good luck, and reusable nappies are really the way to go! Both my girls used them for 2 years and my third will be in cloth too, they are cute and cut out so much rubbish!

Thank you! We fell in love with the Miosolo but the washing instructions really put us off, you didn't mention this, did you not find the washing/soaking frustrating?

We don’t wash our miosolos any differently to any other brands. All in the machine - pre rinse & drain - then full cycle at 40/60 :) no need for soaking or anything like that! However I much prefer the other brands to miosolos just in terms of absorbency!

Hey, really like your video, very informative! Do you know if Bambino Mio has a separate nappy system instead of the all-in-one cloth nappy? I like the idea to have separate waterproof ‘cover’ that comes separate with the booster :) xxChristina

They do, they do wraps and prefolds as well 🙂

They don t make hybrid diapers in pocket diapers but they do cover with prefolds and flats which I feel are the best for my girl so far. Size one is awesome for her chubby legs from 2 months.

I was wondering if you have a problem of leaks on the leg seams? Are your nappies always wet on leg gussets when you change them? my nappies are wet on legs even after just 1 hour - any brand I use. Am I doing something wrong?

When you put the nappy on squeeze the crotch area into leg crease. If that makes sense, it helps keep the nappy flush with the skin and avoid most leaks. Hope this helps.

@@spindletrim there's alot of websites that have a second hand section, I know that the nappy lady does, so does the nappy gurus, there's also fb groups but alot have been suspended due to covid, ebay also is a good one.

@@mgracie8129 I'm in the USA, I know Alva Baby Pockets are pretty good, since I'm in the US none of those other brands besides Alva and Bambino MIO (never tried, in US these are a little expensive). I have ordered my Alvas both direct off of the Alva website imported from China and also through USA Amazon, more affordable buying direct from China and better selection.

@@MeganSaidThis Try mama koala and happy flutes I believe you can get them delivered to us without it being a fortune. Also my little gumnut nappies are Australian so might be worth a look at as well as they do world wide delivery. There all really highly rated, happy flutes I had to get off aliexpress as can't get them easily here but they are pretty cheap.

Sorry for the insanely slow reply - depends on the type I’ve used. If it’s a 2 parter I change just the nappy, if it’s an all in one or pocket & it’s full of wee I change the whole thing!

I would say as a newborn I was using about 10-12 nappies a day. Then as they poop less, around 4-6, then probs 3-4 a day! So having a minimum of 20 nappies to rotate is a good start

Hello, can I just ask about liners, so you need to use a liner in the nappy every time you use the nappy no matter what, the inside of the nappy doesn’t just go against their bum with boosters underneath? Thank you

No not at all :) before weaning you dont need to do use any liners as all the poo is completely okay to be shoved straight in the washing machine. And when baby is on solids then the poo needs so go down the toilet, I just tip the poo off in to the loo and dont use a liner. Only time a liner is really needed is to keep the babies bum dry if they are sensitive, so like on little lamb baboo fitted nappies xxx

A single newborn will go through 15 nappies a day I would personally get more the cheapest is cotton prefolds and Terry squares with wrap for the newborn stage

Flats with covers are awesome to get through the newborn stage. With 70x70 folded origami style. Or else I found that disposables were quite convenient for the first month then going into cloth diapers once you re used to change both often
