Not sure if it's been commented on or not. The reason for the fractionated coconut oil is so your blend doesn't harden up if it gets too cold like it would if you used regular coconut oil. This may not matter if you put it in a jar that's shallow but if you put it in the roller bottles and it hardens then it won't roll on. Thought I'd mention that for the beginners.

Thanks for the diffuser recommendation! It was on offer here in the U.K. For £14 which is about $20 plus 15% if you buy 2. Perfect for my little London apartment. I've only just discovered essential oils and your video is a blessing and you don't promote MLM, thank you!!

Essential oils are so amazing! They really are the life essence. I don't have a diffuser but this is helpful! Peppermint, lavender, and lemon are my favorites as they are more affordable, but also so versatile for so many day-to-day things. Lemon is perfect for removing label residue and any kind of residue. Eucalyptus should not be used on children under 8 though and never ingested as it can be toxic. I blend peppermint, lavender, lemon in grape seed oil and use it for allergies and sleep!

Would you please make a video on how to make essential oil rollerballs? I am a grandmother and I am just starting into these oils. I love them. My mother in law who is 88 years old uses the head ease on her knee which gives her a lot of trouble. She loves it and it helps her so much. She is still very active and loves to garden. My only regret is that I did not find the oils earlier. I do not know much about how to mix the oils and would love for you to teach me. My mother in law uses the head ease neet. I did not realize that you are suppose to dilute these oils and do not know if this will be a problem for her. I don't think she will change now because she loves it so. My next order will be for the Muscle Relief. I look forward to you helping me mix my oils. Thanks so much!

Since essential oils are very high in terpenes, I would encourage addressing ozone oxidation of terpenes into formaldehyde and acetaldehyde when diffusing essential oils. These are very toxic by-products and important for discussion. But I'm finding nobody wants to talk about it. Thank you.

after doing some reading, I continuously see that peppermint, eucalyptus, and rosemary are unsafe for children under 6 bc it can slow their breathing. I've also heard/read thieves is definitely not safe for kids. I just wish there was a straight answer. I hate not knowing what is safe for my kids!
@livewelljess
@livewelljess 9 жыл бұрын
+chelsea webster Yes, there can be mixed information out there, and it can be confusing. When it doubt, err on the side of caution or consult a naturopath/aromapath. There are people who use various oils on their children without issue, but what works for one family doesn't necessarily work for everyone. Even traditional medicine has contradictions. Most sources will tell you not to give children under 6 Benadryl, but my pediatrician has recommended it for my toddler under certain circumstances. It's just best to take cautions. Here's a blog post from someone who has done a LOT of research and provides links to other resources: www.thehippyhomemaker.com/essential-oil-safety-babies-children/. Personally, I diffuse Four Thieves during our waking hours when Kennedy is around and we are dealing with sickness in the home, but I do so with caution and supervision. From my research, the caution with the oils you mentioned and younger children is a component called 1,8-cineole which could potentially slow breathing in young children. Again, there are plenty of families that use the oils you mentioned regularly on their children, but do what your comfort zone and conscious allows. For each oil that isn't recommended for children, there's usually a safer alternative.

Jessica, thanks for this video b/c I've been seriously thinking (and praying) about getting into essential oils. However, my husband (who just retired, so he's around all the time - I say that just because he'd be in the rooms where I'm diffusing the oil, not because I'm complaining about him!) is skeptical about these. He'll think it's just another "Scentsy" thing that I bought two of and don't use. A couple questions - do these oils stain your clothes - either alone, or mixed with the fractionated coconut oil. I definitely would go with the roller ball bottles - it sounds like they're so convenient. I have fibromyalgia and muscle spasms and arthritis in my knees and in an ankle which was badly broken 25 years ago. I'm also wondering about the concerns that Chelsea Webster mentioned about some oils being unsafe around kids. I have 6 grandchildren (with one on the way) 7 and under, and they are here frequently. Two of them have *severe* food allergies (dairy, eggs and peanuts to name just a few). Obviously I wouldn't put anything ON them, but am concerned about the diffusing and the diffused oil "hanging around" in the air in our house. One of the kids has asthma issues and uses a nebulizer daily to keep the bad attacks away. Would you be open to emailing about all this? I can PM you my email address if you would.

+Soozie 4Him Feel free to email me if you'd like! Jessica@themommyarchives.com. Here's an excellent, well researched blog post about essential oils and children: www.thehippyhomemaker.com/essential-oil-safety-babies-children/ I have fibromyalgia as well, and the blend Muscle Relief has been a God send for pain. I mix it with a carrier oil, and it's better than any other topical rub I've ever tried.

+Living by Grace Here's a great, well researched blog post about using essential oils with children: www.thehippyhomemaker.com/essential-oil-safety-babies-children/ It provides a lot of really helpful guidelines regarding which ones are safe for babies. Typically, a lavender/lemon/peppermint mix is great for nasal symptoms, but you might just leave out the peppermint when diffusing it with a 10 month old.

Thanks so much for your awesome videos, very informative and actually I have watched some more than once. So thank you so much. After watching I decided to order from Eden Garden, picked a bunch of stuff out, took quite abit of time as the order was $150.00. I was just at the end to pay when I noticed they wanted $50.00 shipping, yikes that's like almost $75.00 after exchange, way too much. Do you know if they have a Canadian store? what would you do? should I just forget it or do you have any suggestions? thanks again, love your videos?? p.s.
