Its always interesting to see the creative taste and workflow of other Europa users, its been my go to synth for deep sound design for years, such a versatile synth and the workflow is nigh on perfect. Dark dub stab is my fav preset of any instrument.

@@soundsfromYYBY depends on the changes made tbh, but having a paid tier would create compatibility issues for RE patches and therefore confusion =not a great approach. But this is academic as history has shown they have little interest in improving REs. What is your take on this?

Europa has so much potential, but it's unfortunate it only has common amp & filter envelopes for all 3 engines. And there's no way to copy settings between engines. Wish those were improved in an inevitable v2, right? RIGHT? :)

@@HOLLASOUNDS I think both he and I belong to the same crowd who also think Serum sounds cold and sterile. I mean, they both have a vast amount of functions and possibilities. But I always think the sound coming out is just very cold, sterile and uninteresting. It's as if a sheet of "coldness" is always covering the sounds.
@phladjki8 ай бұрын
I agree that Europa by default doesn’t have dense, organic sounds. It’s very clean and metallic sounding. I believe there are ways to get more organic sounds, but you’d have to be intentional about it and know the tricks.
@HOLLASOUNDS8 ай бұрын
@@Magnus_Loov Are you talking about Serum or Europa? Some Analog hardware guys claim that all digital synths are sterile and sound to clean, however I don't really agree. Should be noted that I dont spend much time doing sound design because the patch I make from scratch usually a preset, already exists that sounds the same or similar and to make it Myself is a waste of time. I find that those who focus on sound design first end up making boring forgettable music, much like a CGI overload movie all looks fantastic but the story is trash.

Great video, and thanks for the reminder that these tried-and-true tools remain quite relevant when placed in capable hands. Ordinarily, I might have just hit the thumbs up and not have commented. However, many of the comments that followed left me wanting to say shut the F_ _ _k up and create something. Now, it should come as no surprise that some will read this and be immediately offended, and that’s fine. Everyone else, I suspect that you can relate to the distracting noise of gadget heads whose only function in life is to insult, complain, and hear the sound of their own voice, or in this case, read their homegrown rhetoric. Certainly, there’s a time and place for discord, but sometimes it’s better to say nothing if you haven’t anything constructive to add to the conversation. Specifically, the video is about creatively employing a tool likely already sitting in your toolbox in perhaps a manner not previously considered. Yes, newer and arguably more capable virtual instruments out there have more robust filters, envelopes, scalable GUI, etc., but what would be the point if every tool had the same capabilities as the next? “Necessity is the mother of invention,” so instead of harping on what this and any of the other amazing old-school racks don’t have and can’t do, how about enlightening us on your techniques, workarounds, or even unconventional use of these devices? Finally, again, thanks for the informative episode; thanks to Reason Studio for the continued development of this unique and awesome DAW at a price point that offers loads of value, and to those of you, not just here but across the music-making landscape who share your ideas and support artists and content creators at all levels. Best,

A real shame, since this instruction vid seemed really promising. Edit: Sorry for sounding rude. Just very demoralizing to see people scroll through this with ease when you are new at it. A mouse indicator makes things so much easier to follow for new people.

I miss the old style of reason videos that were narrated by either Ryan or James Bernard. They were a lot of fun to watch and very memorable

Agree. The cast of nobodies they have doing videos from time to time leave me cold. Frank was funny, Ryan - passionate, and James like your friend giving you valuable gear tips. Even Mattias has his moments but he's a little dry, but that might be a Swedish thing.
