I'll try to explain the mind smacking serendipity that I experienced tonight; in part due to discovering this video. I was researching the process to sell my MK3 when I accidentally came upon this video. The hunger to learn is back with a vengeance and I've at long last found my teacher! Thank you for a top shelf dose of clarity and professionalism. Whatever is next, just sign me up.

Had my mk3 almost a year and was using it for a paperweight the last few months I was so frustrated trying to learn how to use it from tutorials which usually frustrated me more. They went so fast that I would have to rewind and watch over and over to finally figure it out then stumbled across your tutorials and now I'm proud to say my Mk3 is totally dustfree and I'm actually starting to have fun with it! You the man Jeff!

Jefferson, you are the best teacher of maschine on YT. Hands down. I search for more and have come back to you multiple times. Reason being, in my mind, is that you have a lot of valuable content in short segments. It's hard to digest fully. You do slow it down to reiterate certain things, other's get passed...but, it's like Rague, "it's in there" . I just have to revisit and learn the parts I missed while grasping the first bit. Thanks a million.

I gave up with my M3 about a year ago, Was going to give it one more try before letting it go. So so glad i found Mr Gibbons. Take a bow Sir, i'm all fired up & looking forward to a fresh outlook & perhaps even actually learning how to use this amazing piece of kit. I too have looked at so many tutorials in the past but just found it so difficult to keep up & had almost decided i must be particularly stupid or just plain dumb ! You're delivery style really works for me & i'me able to take in a lot of info without being totally bombarded! Great effort thanks Jef.

Jeff, greetings from Germany. This vid is absolutely priceless. Thank you for all your work and effort. Since 3 weeks I try to figure out on youtube how this works, and i am hating and loving the idea of this maschine as a new approach to making music. Yesterday for the 1st time I went here to a professional store to watch a demonstration by one of the guys there. So far I only know keyboards and Cubase to make music but I guess I will order one of them soon and enter a complete new world.

Thanks Peter, it took me a lot longer to get my brain around than it should have, it's just a very different way of making music, but after forcing myself to dig in, I really love the workflow.

Jeff! Thank you for making this. I know you pushed this out back in February, but I just discovered it by accident. I have never used any of the Maschine products from NI but a family member has the Mikro and told me that if I want to create and be very portable, Maschine makes more sense due to the on screen editing features. The closest I ever came to it was testing an MPC many years ago. Of course, we both know every person creating a tutorial has their own style. I've watched a few tonight and am so glad I came across yours, young man! And yes- I had to subscribe because your content and delivery to a future newbie is spot on. The multi camera angles are a nice touch and your video is nice and clear. You're organized and make good examples of what could happen using longer methods as opposed to shortcuts ("macros", right?). I looking to get my first Maschine in a few days. It also appears that you are using a Mac for your creating. Are you making magic via a Mac Mini or the Mac Pro? Asking because I am trying to minimize my setup at home while retaining portability. If you are quite familiar with MacOS, would you happen to know if this Machine Mk3 will work well with the iPad Pro with it's upcoming iOS 13 (or iPadOS)? I know generally you have to connect this to the laptop/desktop computer, but I am asking to see what your experience reveals. I envision the 2018 iPad Pro, Maschine Mk3 connected via a USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) cable, and a SanDisk portable 1TB SSD. Thoughts? Well have a great day and please keep making more great videos where you simplify the processes for the uninitiated! Have to finish your video then visit your channel for more! Be well and take care. Much respect.

Thank you for this easy to follow, straight to the point intro to using the MK3. I was beginning to lose the will to live with trying to fathom how and where to start. Whilst there are plenty of other 'Beginners' tutorials out there, the ones I have so far watched are overly feature rich with 'do this, hold that, press shift and stand on one leg' type instructions. Overwhelming to say the least. What you present here is exactly what I needed :)

@@jefgibbons WOW!! Thanks for the reply Jeff! It took me a few days to figure out an appropriate answer and to pick thru the videos that you have. But the ONE constant/consistent video that is needed for former AKAI MPC users is the need to learn how to Sample properly in the Maschine! I worked on the AKAI MPC series for almost 30 years, and know that I was a SURGEON with it, so im lookin fwd to being able to do the same, if not MORE with the Maschine. If ive watched 10 different videos, then ive seen 10 different ways to do it, which is very confusing for those like me. ALSO, what is the ultimate purpose for GROUPS?? There's 8 group pads, BUT, can there be a Group A2, B2, C2, etc?? I understand the concept, took me a minute but I got it, and its actually good to know, especially for my OCD having the need to stay organized. BTW, your attention to intangibles are UNMATCHED!

This is easily the best tutorial on machine that I have come across on the internet! Do you intend to make more videos especially for beginners - be it for free on KZbin or as a course to buy? In any case I subscribed, because that video was incredibly helpful.

It looks like just the way I pictured it when it comes to the sounds and the used, I might not go in to work for a week when it gets here. It’s basically like I helped design the program..... you have here one happy beat and groove maker

Wow Jeff.really great intro video. Apparently I've been using Native instruments the hard way for five years. Usually ill watch a vid from them, grind on it for a weeks and level up. Watched your vid's, learned some shortcuts and alot i didn't know existed, Gained +2 hypothetical levels in 30 minutes :) Time to go grind on this new knowledge. Soo Many thanks Jeff.

Hey Jef, your videos have been a huge help to this new Maschine user, so thank you! Did have a question for you though, not sure if you can help. But sometimes I get tons of popping and crackling when playing with the Maschine. It can be fine for days then all of a sudden it happens and gets really bad. I've looked on line and tried changing latency and other settings, but it always eventually seems to come back. Any advice?

Hey Jef! Is there a difference if I load a kit from groups and not from instruments? I've got kits that require Battery4, which i don t have, so i can t load those from instruments, but i can from the group tab. Thanks a lot!

Thank you, Jef. Great tutorial: clear, concise and inspirational. Wants me to touch my MK3. I love the Maschine workflow, but, coming from a regular daw-background, sometimes struggle with its ideosyncraticies. These tutorials really help. Hope you will make one on recording audio (vocals). Oh, and on fx and automation. I subbed and hit the bell!

Props my friend. I've had a MK1 since it came out but really only used it as a sample trigger and then recently bought a MK3 and Jam combo and was struggling a bit to wrap my head around it. My background is with analog devices. You did a good job. Thanks for your help dude.

Phenomenal tutorial. Despite your awesomeness, I still can't even jump start my actual initial startup - if that makes any sense. Had this Maschine MK3 since November, but oftentimes land in a pool of frustration due to a lack of progress. Can you assist?!?... lol. But seriously.
