You doing good it takes them longer when you first start training them getting to know the way around don't worry. Give them another 5 miles then up to 10 miles the harder you train the better they do. Don't be afraid that's what they do fly they'll fly off in all directions

There doing great trapping so that's good, try not fret about them circling and circling getting there bearings, if you try look through you're binos you will probably see it's the same 1 or 2 that keeps turning them and it's probably the 2 that are always last home, over the years I've seen lads neck birds for doing that as they are holding the rest back. As for them taking a long time to come back on the last toss, I'd say they clashed with a bigger batch and probably got dragged before they broke and headed back for home so even do they had you're nerves gone that was a good educational toss for them. I wouldn't short toss them for much longer as they need to build up there fitness big time, and coz you have them trapping well after you up there milage if you're going 2 weigh the food and keep the diet strict you need 2 get the linseed out for them to have a bite 2 eat until there all or mostly home and then feed them as a group. I can see you're so nervous and fretting like hell we have all been there but there doing fine and try not nanny them, remember you don't own them, you only have a loan of them so enjoy every minute and don't be afraid 2 push them now🕊️🕊️. Yeah I think the 2 that were holding them back have gone. We've moved onto some longer distance tosses now
@desburke77862 жыл бұрын
@@howtotrainyourpigeon delighted to hear you have upped them in distance and starting 2 push them harder now, and don't be afraid 2 either, as they are very resilient and will surprise you how tough they are. Looking forward to seen the next training tosses and them progressing well for you. As always enjoy. Yours in sport des 🕊️🕊️

Take the fly out of them by loft flying before you basket them ! That way they do the business quicker , all best

Put them straight back in the baskets and take them again. Same place when your at a short distance

Each time you take them training I'd let them settle 10/15 minutes regardless of experience, this should cut down on them circling around and find their line for home and if you have Peregrine Falcons around will help regarding them being hit! Severe Peregrine problems I wouldn't train in batches! Let 5 go at time, watch via binoculars making sure they've cleared, then next 5 🤔 time consuming if you have a large team but surely you want your pigeons to have a better chance to get back. Good luck 🤞

I'm getting so tired of vids about tossing the pigeons. To me it seems all a loss of time and money. Seems only outside Belgium and Holland it's necessary to toss! In the year 1995, I remember, we won first prize in club (90 associates) 12 races IN A ROW. Had never happened in the 100 year history of the club. We competed with 12 cocks on widowhood. We NEVER tossed. One competitor tossed a lot (very rare in Holland), he had reasonable results, but ours were FAR BETTER! Thing is: starters get tired of so much work and so little results and get out of the fancy. ADVISE: Tuesday before first race: bring your birds about 20 miles: release all together. Then Saturday race 60 miles, next week 100 miles, next week 150 miles. Then select out all birds that not classified in first 25% 2 times. None has classified 2 times? Be happy, you just saved yourself a lot of money! Try to get good birds.

I'm tired of all the 'cute cat' videos on KZbin. So I don't watch them.

@@howtotrainyourpigeon The cute cat videos don't DEMORALISE starting pigeon fanciers.(THAT's the point I make, you should have understood )
@howtotrainyourpigeon2 жыл бұрын
@@leunisvandewege9651 it might demoralise you but you've obviously been flying a long time, so I see how training may be boring, for you. For newcomers we gorge on as many KZbin pigeon videos as we can. The thought of training isn't demoralising, it's exciting and it's an accurate account of what to expect. If the thought of training birds puts people off then it's better they come to that conclusion after watching KZbin than after committing to a loft full of youngsters.
