This was very informative. You validated why some of my succulents didn't make it last year....too much watering. Last year was my first year to overwinter them. This year I hope to be more successful. Also, don't ever hide your utilitarian areas of your yard. We need to see them to learn.....and who doesn't have them in their own yard!

Wow.......I can't imagine digging plants up to put them indoors for the winter. Once they're planted, that's where they stay. Ambitious!

it's funny how funny climates work! l am in zone 9b-10 in south texas and our succulents have just got out of summer dormancy and we are starting to repot our mangaves and echeverias, cutting back bougainvillea and trimming palms. Here in South Texas we live outside during winter, days in the upper 60s and nights rarely below 33, that's when the succulent color gets intense.

I *love* gardening with succulents. I always get hardy ones and let them overwinter outside. This is the first year I’ve had them in containers instead of in ground only so I am curious how those will fare.

What do you use to keep bugs from coming in your home?
@jwpink332 ай бұрын
Yes I wanna know too. I've tried everything

I will often apply multiple rounds of all-seasons horticultural oil before I bring the plants inside. Depending on the plant, I will spray additional applications in the winter. This creates a coating on the plant that will repel bugs. If you search "putting up pumpkins wyse" on KZbin, you can find a video from a couple weeks ago of me preparing some agave around the 11:45 mark. Hope this helps! 🌞

I actually do a Q&A on my Instagram/Facebook stories every week! I will usually post a question box on Thursday evening or Friday morning. I cannot get to all the questions submitted, but I do my best to select the ones that I see the most. Feel free to search for Wyse Guide on either of those platforms to find me there! 🌞

I don’t have grow light, but I do have full sun & flower box liners. I place one long one in my dining room window bc I get full sun most of day. I grow lettuce in that flower box container. It’s wonderful! I’m doing it again this year

Hi Kaleb Not to butt into your business..I think if you changed the swing of your outside door you’d have more room to store more plants. Just a suggestion Love watching you and you videos Cheers from Idaho.

Do you ever take your plants in your house over the winter? My dining room is full of plants during the winter. I have them in the entryway.… Basically I scatter them throughout my house and yeah I feel like I have a Conservatory during the winter! My aloe plant went crazy this summer - is as big as your agave! I think because of the intense heat . I kept it on my covered front porch -the heat and the humidity this year was insane in SW PA and it’s twisting and growing really well -ready to stab and attack anybody in my dining room😂😂😂

What can you put on outdoor plants when they are brought in for the winter? My outdoor plants have bugs in them. I’ve heard to spray the plant and soil with peroxide is effective?

When I was young and stupid, my dad tried to convince me to go live on the family farm here in Nebraska. Our immediate family never lived there, it was always rented out. Now I could kick myself for not doing it. Guess we live and learn.?😢
