honestly .... not the best guide to watch. i understand that the ultimate guide is long but that one's probably the best option. we would love to see you guys react to the ultimate guide but if not, here's a somewhat brief intro of the group, their concept and history. Introduction/History: Exo debuted in 2012 with 12 members, 4 of which were chinese (Lay, Luhan, Tao and kris) and 8 korean (Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun). Initially the group was divided into 2 aka Exo-K (korean sub unit) and Exo-M (mandarin/chinese sub unit) but when 3 of the chinese members left the group for various reasons the group was reunited as one aka EXO. As of right now, Exo has 8 members, all korean. The only remaining Chinese member was Lay but for a few years he hasn't been part of Exo Activities and recently left SM entertaining parting ways with the group but in our hearts, he's still part of the group .... anyways ..... moving on. Members: 1- SUHO: Suho aka Kim Jun Myeon is the Leader of the group. 6:52 in this video and to answer your question, no he isn't the one you guys were paying attention to in the killing voice video XD that was Chen. Anyways... Suho's position in the group is lead vocalist. He has a few solo singles and 3 albums (Self portrait, Grey suite and 1 to 3). He has also sung a few OSTs as well as starred in a few Kdramas. He is also a Musical Actor, his most famous works being "the man who laughs" and "mozart". 2- XIUMIN aka Kim Minseok is the oldest member of the group and he is also the lead vocalist but he can also rap. he's done a few solo projects as well. so far he has 1 solo album called "Brand New". we're expecting a new album from him very soon tho. 3- BAEKHYUN: you already know who baekhyun is XD but to give you a brief intro... He's the Main vocalist of Exo. He's usually the "mood maker" of the group. He's Famously known as the "Genius Idol" which you'll understand very soon why as you keep reacting to more of his stuff. He's great with fans and knows what the fans want XD He's done a bunch of solo stuff and has been a part of many OSTs and has 4 mini Albums (Delight, Bambi, city lights and Hello World) as well as a Japanese Album. 4- CHEN aka Kim Jongdae. The vocals on this man are crazy !!!! as you already know XD He's also the main vocalist of the group. He is the first married member of the group. he got married 3 years-ish ago but held the ceremony in 2023. he has 2 kids as well. His discography includes a few singles and collaborations, 4 mini albums (April and a flower, dear my dear, last scene and Door) he also has a japanese album (Polaris) and a bunch of OSTs, a very famous one is "Everytime" from descendants of the sun and "best luck" from it's okay that's love. 5- D.O aka Doh Kyungsoo, the R&B king and also the main vocalist of the group. He's known for his nonchalant attitude XD but don't get wrong, he's not rude. infact he's known for being very kind and taking care of staff and people around him. He is not only known for his smooth vocals and musical talent but also for his impressive and successful acting career. discography includes OSTs and 3 albums (empathy, expectations and blossom) as well as a few collabs. He's done a bunch of Main roles and supporting roles in Dramas and movies. we're expecting another drama of his soon with a famous actor Ji chang wook. 6- KAI aka Kim Jongin aka Dancing machine. He is the main dancer and the center of the group. he is famously known for his dancing skills and stage presence and is idolized by many other idols as well. He is an all rounder, he can sing, dance, rap and is an amazing entertainer. He's best friends with Shinee's Taemin. His discography includes a few singles and 3 mini Albums (KAI, peaches and Rover). He is currently in the military. YALL NEED TO REACT TO HIS STUFF 7- CHANYEOL: The main rapper of the group but there's nothing that this man can't do. He Sings and sings VERY WELL, he acts, he produces and plays a bunch of instruments. he has done a few singles and has a very famous OST song with punch named "stay with me" from the famous kdrama "Goblin". He's also been a part of few dramas and movies as well. a few famous ones are "memories of the alhambra", "the box" and the most recent one "The frog" on netflix. 8- SEHUN aka the maknae (youngest) of the group. He's also the main rapper and dancer of the group. He's been famously known for his visuals. there hasn't been much solo work from him as of right now, the only solo song i can think of is "On me" which was part of his sub unit album with chanyeol but hopefully we'll get some solo stuff from him after his military discharge. he's also in the military right now. He's done a few acting gigs and was part of a famous netflix show called "Busted!" Exo Concept: now coming towards the very interesting concept that Exo debuted with. If you recall the MAMA MV, there was a storyline intro. basically, The exo members are from another planet called the Exo planet and each member has super power which i will mention below. They were sent to earth to fight an Evil power called the "red force". their music videos revolve around this concept and is very interesting if you look into their music videos a bit deeper. almost all of their music videos are connected and show off the member's powers in some way. Some of the members even incorporate their powers into their solo music videos as well like you'll see in Kai's "Mmmh" music video, he shows himself teleporting (thats his power) and in Baekhyun's Bambi and even in pineapple slice, he manipulates light (which is his power). each member's powers are: 1. Suho: Water 2. Xiumin: Frost/ice/freeze 3. Baekhyun: Light 4. Chanyeol: Fire 5. Chen: Thunder 6. D.O: Strength/Earth 7. Kai: Teleportation 8. Sehun: Wind 9. Lay: Healing Exo Sub units: 1. Exo-CBX: Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin 2. Exo-SC: Sehun and Chanyeol

Exo stand out for their concerts, I recommend watching, I have not seen such energy from any kpop group. They ALWAYS sing live, even when they perform for 2-3 hours, at each concert they continuously dance and sing, while at the end of the concert they still have the strength, it's amazing, Suho says that you need to perform every time like the last time

I'd definitely recommend checking out the ultimate guide because even if it's long, it's much easier for newer fans to learn from than something like this that just spams you with info dumps that aren't at all helpful unless ypu already know the group somewhat

Wow, that guide was whiplash fast even for me as a fan of many years... (Being worried about copyright isn't a reason to go that fast...) And there was some inaccurate info in the info dump too. They stated the release of MAMA in OCT 2012 when it was in APRIL 2012. Not a huge deal but just one thing I would correct. It's not easy to make a short summary of such a large group with such a long and accomplished career but I would suggest the guides others have mentioned (even if you don't react to them in video it will answer a lot of your questions) I look forward to your week of reactions!

As a veteran exol (10yrs), this guide confused me just as much as it did you 😂 sorry that yall wasted your time watching this. I do still recommend the ultimate exo guide, but I get what yall mean by it’s too long- so I recommend splitting it up into 2 or 3 videos (btw it’s divided/organized by sections, so you don’t have to watch it all in one sitting). I'm sorry you had to wade through this spastic guide, but glad you got something out of it. Thanks for remaining positive and interested. Another short guide that is up to date is "The Impact of EXO" by Jonathon Miller Music from 2023. But there is an embedded ad near the beginning. It's a little over 20 minutes, but clear and thorough. Regarding other things you asked about and the almost information from the guide: -- Xiumin and Chen are Korean and were given Chinese stage names. EXO has 12 members divided into a EXO-K (Korean language) and EXO-M (Mandarin language). -- Chanyeol designed the logo, a stylized form of the word EXO. -- D.O. is a respected k-drama and movie actor, who has won or been nominated for may prestigious awards including the Blue Dragon and Golden Bell. His last starring movie role was The Moon in 2023. I first saw him on Netflix in the k-drama 100 Days My Prince, which eventually led me to EXO. -- That old BaekChen duet, "I Really Didn't Know," was from the Immortal Songs competition. They lost somehow. -- It's interesting that Kai reminds you of Taemin. They are best friends. Kai had trained in ballet and jazz dance since childhood. He eventually became known as the "Idol of Idols" after his 2018 SBS k-pop awards Love Shot performance took over mainstream SK news for 2 or 3 days and inspired so many idols. Please check out "Film:Kai," a glorious extended teaser medley for his first album. -- The voice of Chen, my bias, is glorious and precise. It's too bad that guide highlighted Chen's singing by silencing or warping it. Chen sings a variety of styles, too. See the head banging live solo "Uprising" and live group "Drop That." (you saw some of it) He's more of a ballad singer lately, though, so people won't think he's just an high note guy. His solos "Light Of My Life," "Lights Out" solo version of the group song, "Beautiful Goodbye" and his latest "Empty" (The mv version with actors and lyrics). Thanks again.

A mug that symbolizes the universe album is based on the band's color, which is cosmic latte. The chipmunk version song played during copyright issues. All of them are songs that Chen sang for the series. I mean It's his song. It's not some random song thrown in to solve copyright issues. You should listen to it once. All of that was amazing. And the song Chen and Beakhyun sang together was 'Really I didn't know' on the program 'Immortal Song' in 2013. P.S. even though I'm EXO-L I also think this guide is annoying.
