appreciate the explanation of the lineup! I was so confused

Stunning lineup of cars. Current Polestar 2 owner with a Polestar 4 on the way this November.

I'll soon be in the market for an EV. I'm seriously considering the Polestar 2. Here in Southern California everyone has a Tesla. I want something different. I'm retired, and only drive about 100 miles per month. I'll be leasing.

i recommend checking out Out of Spec’s recent review of the Polestar 2’s driver assist system. They go over quite a bit and point out how Polestar claims that the 3 will be a way better product when it comes to safety features and sensors.

Considering what you said. I would wait until manufacturers refit the charge port to NACS and maybe go with an IONIQ 5.

Polestar Precept was a concept unveiled years ago. It got so much attention that they decided to “bring it to production” as the P5.

It's good to see you viewing these cars in the flesh! I actually recently took delivery of a 2023 Polestar 2 (with the old styled front) and really enjoying it so far. It was quite the upgrade from my 2014 petrol Ford Fiesta...

Polestar 3 will be one of the best evs made to date. Especially for around $100k or less. Reviews drop june 10. I can’t wait. I bet reviews will be stellar. It’s should be an amazing vehicle to drive

California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Virginia have passed right-to-charge laws aiming to streamline the installation of residential community EV charging stations. Also, Illinois recently passed a right-to-charge law specific to new houses or multiunit buildings.

The 2 is a sedan really (kinda like the ford fiesta hatchback), it just rides a bit higher. I have a 2, and have been in the 3 twice now, the 3 is significantly larger and roomier than the 2, a true (2-row) SUV. It’s also supposed to look/feel much more premium, the showroom models were hand-made with pre-production materials, I expect the production cars to improve this.

Polestar 2 parking brake failed on a steep hill while I was in Sicily this week. Gave it back to Hertz less than 24hrs after rental, had originally booked a Tesla and wasn’t given one

I wish they’d make a wagon. It’s funny that Volvo is one of the last companies to sell wagons in the USA, yet Polestar isn’t anywhere close to offering one. I agree the vehicles aren’t really in any particular category. Kinda weird. Not a big deal. But that NACS is a must

Seeing the polstar2 & 3 in this video, im just thinking... This is a poor use of space. Cup holders all the way back? The shifter/drive mode could easily be moved on the dashboard. SUV that has less trunk space than avg sedans also results in less visibility. Also they couldn't remove the drive shaft hump? Not to mention that the glove box opener not working probably predicts how reliable it would be.

The Polestar 2 is an EV but built on an old Volvo gas car chassis so although it has sold very well it is ultimately a compromise and so has design limitations (as you mention). The Polestar 3 is new and has a custom made EV chassis. I wouldn’t get your Polestar information from these guys in the video. And most showrooms lock their gloveboxes, for obvious reasons.

When renting a Polestar II, I hated the ultra wide console making my legs very cramped. Are any made in N. America and qualify for US rebate? I won’t buy Chinese at any price.

I really liked the Polestar 2...until I sat in it. That front console makes it feel so cramped, like you said. I hadnt thought about that possibly being a design compromise due to it being built on an ICE platform. Polestar 3 interior looks way better. But that price is way above my tax bracket. Excited to start seeing these on the road though.

Seems like the price is quite expensive and not competitive with Tesla

It is for the most part. The 3 is their Model X territory
@carlxlinify4 ай бұрын
TBH, between polestar2 and model3, I am a little bit leaning toward new M3 (roomier, more practical); but between a PS4 and a MY, I will go for PS4. Between PS3 and ModelX, I would also go for polestar as well. At those price points Polestar’s build quality and finishing just matches its price. Not so much for Tesla.
@chidorirasenganz4 ай бұрын
@@carlxlinify I can’t remember the X pricing atm but the Y is significantly cheaper than the 4. Like 10-15 grand

It is not supposed to compete with Tesla. Polestars are performance cars for people who likes to drive a car. The driving and handling experience are top notch
@Victic0054 ай бұрын
@@michaelrasmussen6953 really? That's why people will buy Tesla over a Polestar.
