Axanthic project is a little slower than I would like. All the eggs from last season went bad but it might have been because I paired them super late and they are first timers. Fingers crossed for some babies 2021! We will do a gargoyle video soon

Can I use sticks, logs and stones that I have picked from outside in the nature to decorate a crested gecko enclouser? If the anwser is yes, is there something that I need to think about before I decorate the enclouser?

Um do research on which types of wood are safe to use and make sure the things you pick out are 100% free of chemicals and pesticides. Also wash and sterilize each piece before adding it to the enclosure. If you do this it can be a great way to save money while decorating the enclosure!

Depends on the substrate, size of the enclosure and size of the gecko. My best answer would be to use common sense and not let the enclosure get overly dirty. You don't want to clean the whole cage every week either though. One way to keep the enclosure cleaner is to just spot clean every night or every couple days and just pick out the droppings and throw them away..

We sell baby crested geckos no younger than 1 month old ( at that point they have had 1-2 sheds and are eating) We also sell geckos up to 4-5 months in our baby categories.

Probably don’t get them from petco. Not a good place, much better options would be a specialized reptile pet shop that you can trust, a breeder (online and at expos both work nicely) or from a local rescue. Pet shops like petco kinda suck and if you buy from them your accidentally making the problem worse

it’s safer to use purified or treated water over tap since it has many chemicals potentially harmful for crested geckos

Hey guys couple of things that were said in this video I don’t really agree on. Housing an adult gecko in a 12x12x18 is ok but really not recommended. It is just too small. Best to use a 18x18x24. Lastly cohabitation is extremely stressful for a gecko, no matter the age or sex. In the wild they are solitary. While two females can be less aggressive, injury is still possible. Seen a lot of that with other people’s geckos. Please don’t house crested geckos together.

I wouldnt go smaller then 36x36x18 for 1.0... they are a very active species that needs and uses all the space it gets. 12x12x18 is nothing but animal abuse

12x12x18 is adequate for a single average sized crested gecko. I have housed and owned crested geckos for over a decade and never seen adverse effects of housing in that size enclosure. If you want to go bigger and house it in a 18x18x24 then that is up to you. It really depends on HOW you use the volume of the enclosure. If you have a bare 18x18x24 then it is no good and a properly set up 12x12x18 would be better. Cohabitation is not extremely stressful for a gecko either. I don't know how much experience you have with these guys but trust me majority of crested geckos do not mind a cage mate (as long as they have proper husbandry). I find nearly all my breeding groups sleeping together (or hanging out together) every week.. If there are areas where the geckos can get away from each other and feel secure you will rarely have a problem. Everyone is welcomed to have their own opinion though, I am just speaking from long years of dedication to this particular species...

Monica the enclosure in the video was not for an adult. It was a subadult gecko weighing 30 grams or so. Also you can keep them in 12x12x18 tanks, many people do and have happy healthy geckos
