Luke glad you were finally able to get a Quickie and add it to your SRT & One Sticking equipment. I used mine most of season last year and the noise really wasn’t an issue. I just got my UOS from EWO yesterday and looking forward to using it this season! Thanks for getting together with me back in April and giving me a demo of your equipment I really appreciate it!👍

I have the v3 quickie and all I did to silence it was just take the pin out, cover the holes with hockey tape, cut the holes out, and slide the pin back through. Doesn't rattle or have any play.

That's a Notch Quikee used for doing SRS climbing canopy anchors. It's nice cuz u could pull yourself up & hook your lanyard around the 🌳 to tie yourself off. Then u could advance your line around a branch in your way to SRS climb using a Notch by just removing your pin enough so u can put your line through it. Most arborist items I have r too noisy & expensive to incorporate into my hunting system. I like the Ohm tether lock device which comes with the Amsteel attached to it that allows u to retrieve a rope from below after u r done climbing & safe on the ground. The Ohm has great tolerances & they have different models for different tether sizes. I used a 8mm Oplux tether when I want to unhook my climbing & rappelling rope which I seldom do.

Running Bowline. Easy to tie and no metal. Just a thought. Great vid.

Did you try that petzl with the plastic clip before?

Quickies aren't noisy when there's a rope attached. Always have the butt end of the pin against the tree. That is all.

I do like the knotch Quikee but it is definitely a little noisy. What size shrink tube did you use?

Can a quick link be used as well
@chrismcneil55432 жыл бұрын
I would get a clevis for a fraction of the cost for the Quickie. I paid like 7 bucks for a WLL 3100lbs clevis.

Cool im still a big fan of a quickie

@@srtsaddlehunter3285 Yeah it’s a really nice piece especially how the pin doesn’t drop, but definitely cheaper options for people on a budget.

Maybe I missed it....what does it do better than a quick-link?
@carypeaden41473 жыл бұрын
What problem where you having with the quick link or delta link? I have been using quick link and a delta link (on two different saddle setups) and they both work fine for me.
@srtsaddlehunter32853 жыл бұрын
No issues with them but I believe that the quickie is an upgrade. And after real use I still believe it's an upgrade

@@srtsaddlehunter3285 Okay. I understand that. Thanks.

I agree with Luke after using mine for two seasons now; it's faster and easier to open and close than a quick link. Also, since the pin rotates, the rope slides easily through the quickie and seems to hang up less than a quick link when pulling the rope out of the tree. Since it's almost impossible to sideload and works so well with the OHM tether locker, it's my go-to setup for climbing and rappelling!👍

About 15 seconds in he reads the strength ratings stamped on the unit, including side loading (13 KN) .... don't ask me what a Kilonewton is though, lol.
