And now you have a new follower. This is probably my favorite crime drama of all time. I got into it when it first aired im 2002 because of a show called "The Corner" that I had to watch for a college class. It was made by the same writers so I said I'd give it a go. And man, I was hooked minute one. Now I enjoy watching people react to it and experience it through their eyes. Enjoy the ride. Glad to be aboard.

Have recently become friends with Warren. I started in the fire service as a dispatcher for Hampshire County Fire/EMS up in Amherst, Massachusetts. When there was nothing going on, I could listen to Brooklyn due to an atmospheric skip in the troposphere. That's how I was "introduced" to Warren.

Love that you had a dispatcher on the podcast. They are the anonymous hero’s in every fire/EMS system. They also know what’s going on! What a great run for him after all those years! Much respect to great dispatchers!

Great episode guys! I have been to hundreds of police & fire scenes and none were possible without Dispatchers! Sadly the burnout in the Dispatch Centers is astronomical in the currant day and age.

Warren was such a beloved dispatcher in his time. I remember his over the air farewell after 911 and I became very emotional and disappointed about him leaving. His voice was so unique and special from fire transmissions to directing apparatus traffic...This interview got me very excited cuz I haven't been able to find any old clips of him despite searching over the years.

I worked for the Department down in Virginia that was on the same radio freq.(154.370) as Brooklyn. Brooklyn dispatchers often referred to us as "green acres". On certain days we heard Brooklyn better than our own units. I was a firefighter/dispatcher at the time. I came on the job as a firefighter in 1971 and was "promoted" to comm. in 1974. After listening to Brooklyn for a period of time I decided to give Brooklyn Comm. a call and see if I could come up and see their operation. Who did I get?? Yep, Warren. Warren was great and set me up to not only come to Brooklyn Comm. but to ride with 41 Battalion out 248 Engine. I got to meet him and even had dinner in Comm. that night which I seriously doubt he remembers. Comm. was under renovation at the time and was in very much disarray. I ended up coming back up to ride with the 41 several more times. I really appreciate Warren taking the time to work with me, especially being from "'green acres" which was actually Prince William County, VA Fire Department and was mostly volly at the time. I was the 13th career guy hired so I got in in the beginning. This department is in the D.C. suburbs adjoining Fairfax County, VA. I retired in 1997. THANK YOU WARREN!!!

I sent an ambulance to a child not breathing. They were headed back to quarters so I know they were close to the location. But it wasn't their response area, so I got in trouble for sending them. Took them about 30 seconds to get there and the child lived, but I got written up because it wasn't their response area.
