Wow!! What an awesome episode!! 👏👏Happy Father’s Day to all!! As I am watching this on Sunday, 6/19/2022, as my younger son, a newly graduated firefighter(3/8/2022), is working!! This is truly an amazing and awesome video, as it truly teaches us just HOW meaningful the phrase, “NEVER FORGET, really is!! My first and only time at the Rock was this year’s Family DAY, a few months ago!! My family and I absolutely felt the history and tradition of the Rock!! It was such an exciting day that I could not take everything in, although my older son, an historian spent much time taking lots of photos of all of the different monuments and honors!! Your video shows me so much of what I missed!! Thank you for this and thank you to the Chief!! I was particularly struck by the monument to Probie Sears, as another probie was lost during training in my son’s class!!!His name is Vincent Malveau, and I had not the idea of NEVER FORGET in my mind yet, but I did say to my son that I personally will never forget him and his family, and I continue to pray for them every day!! So thank you again!! I follow you on Instagram and now here!! I am thankful to our dear Lord that my son has been given his chance at his dream and I continue to be in awe of All our First Responders and the courage they display!!! Sorry for such a long comment!! Thank you for teaching me so much through your social media!! 😊❤️🚒🚒🇺🇸

I've seen many videos of the rock and been there several times. Can never cover this place enough! 11 mins in and can't wait for part 2. This place is incredible, full of tradition, history and deep seated respect in all aspects of the job ! It's truly inspirational, fills you with pride and love for what we do. It's a place that lay's the foundation for what the job will build upon as you grow. As a probie when you walk in the doors here, you should immediately know if you want to do this job or not! Great Job Pete, Lou and Kev. Appreciate you guys getting back there! Thanks brothers!

I was assigned there for 2 years, crossed paths with many great people on the job from top to bottom. I’ll always embrace the time I had whether it be the beginning when the Rock was a personal hell or the end when I couldn’t drive out the gate without a tear in my eye.

Their training facility is a working museum which pays tribute to the legacy of the FDNY. From the second the new recruits arrive, they feel that they're part of something bigger than themselves. In comparison, the NYPD training academy is nothing but depressing gray metal and fluorescent lighting. Such a difference in jobs.

Imagine, these men are paid about 1/3 of what they should be getting. Some of these guys only get $15, $16 per hour with shit benefits 😒 They give everything they have and go into the impossible and make the impossible, possible for us. The horrors of what they see alone are far beyond anything most people could deal with seeing once in their life time!!! In the hot weather these fire men work until they're physically and mentally unable to. In the cold they damn near freeze to death. Unless regular citizens like us make or bring food, water, coffee, tea, ect to them, they don't get to eat. These guys pull 12 hr shifts, unless there's a fire, could turn into 24, 30 hrs. When they get a break they need to rest. I sleep better knowing these guys are out there and that they'd give their life in a second to save you and me and our families, including our best family members our pets lol 911 is more proof then any world should ever need to really understand what these men and women are capable of. Just like a fire, while everyone is running for their life to get out of the towers, firefighters, police, paramedics (knowing that building was coming down) they ran into it to save us! We should always do whatever we can to help and aid them. This is one very thankful Atlantic Canadian! THANK YOU ALL 1ST RESPONDERS!!! ❤❤

1:38 "some of the very best FF in the world"? Sorry, but not wearing their masks while fighting a vehicle fire as often seen on YT, does not show good ff! And the FDNY is worldwide known for inefficient work. they need more manpower for most fires than other fire departments all over the world. More manpower does not mean better work ;-) 5:48 is it a military academy? a shaolin monastery? or why is it necessary to shave their heads? sorry, but this conveys a totally wrong impression! Drill and discipline are important, YES OF COURSE, but THIS academy is CIVILIAN and for HEALTH purpose and not for military purpose!!!
@thebackbencher12963 жыл бұрын
Obviously the Rock wasn’t for you and they are very sorry to see you go. While occasionally men of experience have braved out car fires without masks because to them it’s just business as usual you however will never even get the chance. Yes , it is a paramilitary organization where hierarchy, orders and disciple are some of the key core principles that make up this world renown institution. Shaved heads are done for both health reasons when young men and women are in close quarters sweating profusely on a daily basis and to instill team work , conformity to orders , and uniformity. It’s not just them patting themselves on the back that makes them the best. No one comes even close. Ask around. When you failed out of the academy I’m sure it was for a very good reason like not being able to follow orders , refusing to cut your hair , being over weight , or simply unable to pass the many challenges provided by the academy. Please provide name and address so they can send you an apology T-47 form. You can read it aloud at your next Magic the Gathering meeting. I’m sure your parents are very proud of you being head of the guild.

@@thebackbencher1296 I‘ve been working as paramedic for 10 years and I’m a surgeon now ;) nuff said. So no Magic nerd (even it’s a game with depth and lots of strategy) no dirtbag, just an ordinary guy with a reflected mind, who knows the real business 😉. It‘s not brave to NOT wear you mask. It’s just stupid. 🤙🏼

@@SirBender Oh no , the game is obviously for mature adults of the highly strategic mindset made for people who don’t understand order , discipline , and paramilitary organizations.
