outstanding scape. I've just gone through a dark start with my 60p iwagumi-themed scape. Going forward I will continue to use a dark start as I have not had any issues with algae the tank cycled really quick and my pearl danios love it. As with any good setup, patience is a virtue and will pay off in the end. Thank you George for all your inspiration!

What an INCREDIBLE scape! Truly amazing 😍 Tom, please just have a look at the rules on the IAPLC contest. If I'm not mistaken you can't show full images of your tank until after the results have been given. You may be disqualified for this

It’s ok. I’ve had full tank photos published in magazines prior to results with no issue. Tom was also concerned and I put his mind to rest.

IAPLC representatives definitely reminded about that last year during the rankings live stream. I guess you will not be disqualified, but you might be ranked lower than what you deserve because of this.

They seem to limit people who publish their works from making the top 100 (used to be top 127), but this could just be a selection bias.

Thanks George, great content. Lovely tank great chat and photography. The referenced Dreamed Amazon Landscape IAPLC cotest 2204 was an exceptional example of a naturalistic aquarium, one which, with perhaps a few modest tweaks, would be the sort of set-up which could be maintained for years. Pearling, in my opinion is, yes, an indication of healthy plants, but pearling generally doesn't have to be vigorous, or steady, my healthiest tanks have only had pearling lightly towards the end of the photo-period not within minutes of the lights coming on. Plats that are constantly fizzing demand lots of trace elements and lots and lots of pruning. There are exceptions however, in my limited experience, especially some red plants, for example Rotala Macrandra, it seems to need intense light and high CO2 levels for at least 8 hours a day to grow lush and healthy. The long-term challenge then, especially in the summer with higher Nitrate levels in my tap water, is to make sure green filament algae doesn't become problematic and make sure CO2 levels are high enough but not too high to affect fish health, again an issue in summer if temperatures push towards 30 degrees centigrade.

It is a very lovely tank build. But it is missing a focal point, and the ambiguously bright background and lighting, severely detracts from the design, and further points out "no focal point"
