Predestination is based on the FOREKNOWLEDGE of God...Romans 8:29. God ordained those to be saved whom He foreknew would CHOOSE the gospel. Man has the responsibility to respond to the gospel.

Predestination is not in the Bible. Not playing semantics, but there is a difference. Every person Jesus brings into this world is predestined and called to salvation and to be restored back to God, that’s the part of being created in “their image” that Jesus wants to come back to them. That’s the Holy Spirit component that is always and has always done the calling. I will always agree with Calvinist on the fact that God calls us. But the carnal “evil” side of us does not want to go back to God. So, there is the free will, or “our part” that Bodie says we don’t have. This is why scripture says “if” so often, is because we do have a say, or decision. “ Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him”. Jesus cannot create people to be lost, it is contrary to Gods character. “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. ” 1 John 1:5

This Scripture alone proves that the Salvation is available to all who hear, all who are thirsty, all who Wish to receive the water of life without cost. Revelation 22:17. Whoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18. The Scripture doesn't say anywhere that God died for the elect only. According to Scripture, the one who is condemned is the one who doesn't believe not the one who is not elect. The only sin that condemns a soul to hell is unbelief in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for all sinners, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 3:16.

Predestination, the elect, the chosen, the called... it are all words that confuse people greatly. God does not CHOOSE the people whom He will save, He does not PICK them out of all mankind. That would make Him the most cruel God: creating people just to send them to hell... Why does God not choose? Because God can't choose: there is NO TIME in or for God, God is NOT LIMITED by time, so that means there is no 'first' and no 'second' and no 'last' in God's vocabulary. We humans are time limited, we live a temporal life and EVERYTHING we do is about first and then and then ... and last. NOT for God: He has created time for us, not for Himself, He is eternal. What does that mean? GOD KNOWS ALL, AT THE SAME MOMENT, AND ALWAYS. How can He choose then? He doesn't. He knows everything at the same time and completely and forever. GOD CALLS ALL HUMANS. That is not choosing, that is not selecting, that is not predestining. God calls all and at the same time He knows. We need to answer His call. We need to preach His goodness. We need to leave the impossible - like reaching unbelieving children, which I have too! - up to God. The Holy Spirit will intercede in our most fervent prayers for them, even if we feel hopeless about it, even if we don't know what more words to use to explain to God how much it hurts to see your unsaved children. GOD KNOWS. I trust the goodness of God, I trust His faithfulness, I trust His love and mercy, His plans and his timing. I love you My Lord God and my Saviour!

The Lord Jesus Christ Jesus himself was certainly not lying during the Sermon on the Mount when he was telling WILLING crowds to ASK, SEEK, and KNOCK (you know, things we can either do or not do), and for EVERYONE who does, it shall be given/found/opened. If I really believed hyper-Calvinism I would never have children. This teaching mocks parents who anguish whether or not their children are elect. Sad. No wonder some of the most depressed people that I know are hyper-Calvinists. This appears to teach that we can affect our childrens salvation, while Calvinism teaches otherwise

See that’s the problem with Calvinism, it says God elected the saved from eternity past and “passed over” everyone else. In other words God didn’t elect them. People are in hell because of their own unbelief, but Calvinism says they’re in hell because God put them there, and didn’t grant them belief. This idea is no where in scripture.

Don't be deceived, the Scriptures are clear. Whoever believes is not condemned but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18. Notice it doesn't say whoever is elect is not condemned, but whoever believes is not condemned. Those who do not believe are condemned those who believe are not condemned. It is not about election it is about belief in Jesus Christ and Him crucified for our sins and risen from the dead for the justification of ALL who believe in Him. Romans 4:25.

Voodie is so incorrect in his interpretation from the VERY beginning. Romans 8 clearly states God’s reason for CHOOSING and that reason is God’s FOREKNOWLEDGE! It is right the in plain sight. The first rule of hermeneutics (the art of biblical interpretation) is that when it makes common sense seek no other sense. This treatment of the text is accurate to the literal interpretation. Is it able to still be according to the pleasure of God’s will? Yes! Is it also able to meet that God is not willing that any should perish? Yes! If God chose according to His FOREKNOWLEDGE, exactly as the Bible says, it fits with all other Scripture. It is was ONLY according to His will, then, and since, He is not WILLING that any would perish, then all would be chosen. Since this is a problem for the hard line Calvinist they must change the Scripture and make the passage not mean that God is not willing for any to perish? They must change that ANYONE who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Even the truth of Romans 1:16 that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. They must say the Holy Spirit is the power of God unto salvation. This is untrue to the Bible. The Gospel makes a man aware he needs salvation, then Holy Spirit draws a man now that he sees that he sits in a cage of sin, by showing that Jesus stands at that door and is knocking and that the door can be opened and that any man can open the door and let Jesus in. Then Jesus will come in and save that man and change that man. He immediately is forgiven of his sins. The cage is gone and the person is free and fully forgiven. What fool would say because he opened a door to the Savior. I saved myself? No one. Jesus walks in. God alone saves. But we do have to believe. It is not a work, it is a choice, and all who would choose Him, God chose according to His FOREKNOWLEDGE. Voodie is not biblically correct on this one.

re Ephesians 1 What has been predestined in this passage? Paul is saying the actual adoption as sons, and being made righteous through the blood of Christ is what has been predestined, not specific individuals to salvation. How do we know this? Paul specifically refers to the audience and their Salvation later on in the passage Vs 13. “And you were also included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of salvation. When you believed, you were marked with a seal the Holy Spirit”. Ie they became In Christ when they believed. Clearly predestination and their salvation are two separate topics in this discourse, Ie “and you were also” infers this. Not only that, but notice the definition of Salvation, Ie they heard the gospel, they then believed, and received the Holy Spirit. There is no reference to being regenerated first in order to believe, if anything this passage refutes reformed doctrine, it certainly doesn’t prove or support it in any way.

You will not find one scripture that says God regenerates hearts or grants belief in salvation. If anyone questions if themselves, or family and friends are “elect” then their hope for salvation is not in Christ alone, it’s in “election”. The free gift is for all not just for some like some people think, the choice to receive or not is dependent on us, not on God. Even as Moses stated saying set before them was life and death, blessing and cursing, but choose life. All of them as we all do have to make a choice, and like Joshua also said, choose whom you will serve, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, but it’s up to the world to choose his son or not, the gift of salvation was given to all but not all will receive it, not because of God picking and choosing but because of their own choices to receive it or not
