Oh my goodness Mark, that was so frustrating as a sub to watch Rose-gate. Sorry Nanny Di, your boy is correct. Makes me really miss my Dad, he was so brilliant at growing them, he did it for Mum because she loved them. We had rose bushes at front, side and back of house.

only prune roses in a month with R in , dead head gone over roses then you will get more (just the head lol) and thistles prune once in spring i have a wall of those thistles and there stunning

After an afternoon and evening of entertaining family it's a lovely surprise to be able to relax and watch gfh. My roses flower twice a year o dead head after flowers die then at the end of summer they flower again. Once they have finished I cut them right down and they come back bigger and stronger every year with more roses and I'm no expert lol.

Mark you’re right about the roses. Sorry Nanny Di. I’ve been growing roses for many years. Wait until the plant has produced all its blooms and they have died. Then you prune 😉
