Excellent install Joe. It’s so hard to record a video, make sure everything is in frame, explain everything you’re doing, get all the right angles, and do all of this without blocking the camera. I appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos. That old setup definitely needed to be redone, good call on fixing it.

My timer box connections are the following L ,N, COM1, NO1, COM2, NO2. My jumper wire isn’t connected so how does this work with my timer box? I am confident with the gfi and 2nd outlet just not the connection to timer box

Wouldn’t be better to install a GFCI Breaker to control your motor? Also as recommendation, always tight your wires to the outlet in the right direction (clockwise ).

@@Joeteck He is right it cost more but it makes the wiring at the end easier, no need for the GFCI outlet. And the right professional way to connect the wires is tighten the loop around the screws in the right direction so it brings the wire in tight and establishes a more secure connection. Loose wire cause fires. It is constructive criticism, don't take it personal. You put content out there do it right.

You should wrap the wire around your screw terminals clockwise. That way you ensure tightening of the screws actually tightens the wire into the terminal not away/out of the terminal.

The issue I would have with this is you didn't use the pvc plugs in the back of your boxes. Those boxes come with screw in plugs to seal off any conduits you aren't using. Water is sneaky stuff, and although it is probably very minor, you definitely could have some leaking inside those boxes from the back conduit that wasn't sealed off, depending on how severe your rains are. If you don't want to take the whole thing apart to fix this, just add some silicone along the seams where the boxes touch the wood.. should reduce or eliminate any seepage.

@@Joeteck Sorry tough guy. No it isn't. No picture showing it has the plugs installed means you didn't do it. Also how about showing electrical tape around the screws. With a pool wiring the ground is all about safety which you didn't show. I would say that's the most important part.

In my town, they seem to require Twist-lock plugs. Where are you that you can use regular 3 prong outlets? The reason I ask is that there are very few timers that use twist-lock plugs, and I have replaced mine 3 times in the past 15 years. I guess I am hoping to switch to regular plugs if I can!
